If we use the pad you suggest, what would you increase the seconds too that you've found works?

Is there a preference as to why you use the flexible sheet vs the pads that come with press?

The sheet is a lot faster, the pads require more time to get the heat through. The only reason to use the pads would be for things that are delicate like 3D embroidered patches

Lovin the videos Lee! You actually convinced me to buy this press. I ordered some custom embroidered patches from Stahls and the patch itself looks great, but the edges of the patch want to peel up quite easily. I've used the foam pads, the stretchy grey silicon pad, teflon, and nothing seems to keep the edges from peeling up. I've use thermo tape and the recommended heat and pressure settings for the patches (320 bottom, 280 top), pressure at 5,6,7, and anywhere from 30-45 seconds pressed and I wait 24 hours before I start picking at it. Same result every time, the edges want to peel up. Do you have any other setting suggestions? All the experimenting I've done are within the recommendations from Stahls. I'm getting frustrated and could use some help.. Thanks again. Your videos are fantastic by the way.

@timothyfisher73713 жыл бұрын
@@leestuart38 I make alot of leather and faux leather patches at my shop. 2 weeks ago a stahls rep told me they sell adhesive sheets for leather and faux leather so I ordered the 360 in order to offer heat pressing as well as embroidered patches. I called today to order the adhesive sheet and was told they do not sell an adhesive sheet for heatpressing leather and that I had to go on the internet and find my own source for it. I was not amused as I was also about to order the flat press for pressing the adhesive onto the leather prior to cutting the patches as the sales rep and i had discussed 2 weeks ago. Totally feel like it was a shady bait and switch to get my money for a heat press as they then went into their sales pitch of selling their service to make my patches for me with the adhesive already on the back. I was not amused. However I am happy that I didnt drop another $2400 on their flat press today and will probably shop somewhere else for it after this experience with them
@alexanderorr64193 жыл бұрын
@@timothyfisher7371 I had the EXACT same experience. Bought the 360, purchased the adhesive they sell per their recommended, applied to the the genuine leather patch, no dice. I called back today and they mentioned that the thermo adhesive they sell isn’t specifically for leather per day. Wasted boat loads of patches and several hats trying to “dial” it in. I just ordered a different style adhesive elsewhere to see if it will work, I’ll let you know what I find out.
