Usually when I see one pumping down I will change it to the other mode to be able to make an educated guess if it’s a refrigerant level problem…saves a lot of time compared to the alternative

I had something similar this past weekend.....I think I got some trash in the liquid line....so now the distribution tunes starts freezing in the cool mode but works fine in heat mode......keep up the good work

I am old school, took me forever to come around to digital meters and gauges,however one of the first electronic devices I ever bought was a Tif electronic sight glass they work well on txv systems. I never see them in videos. Not enough blue tooth wiz bang I guess.

Not really, has little tiny couplings too so you can just cut the feeder tubes and use the little couplings they send

How did you know it was outdoor txv and not indoor? I have a similar problem going on with one of my calls and the 2 metering devises always gives me trouble

you can check all three pressures, and this one had a broken bulb. so, it was pretty clear.

Will the AH blower run continuously in EMER mode as the t/stat never satisfies the set point? In other words, AUX heat is second stage and blower is waiting for first stage to satisfy and it is disabled in EMER.

The blower logic in an air handler isn't that complicated. If there's a call for any stage it runs. If there's no call for any stage it doesn't run. When the thermostat drops the call for W1 because it reached the set point, the blower turns off (maybe after a short delay).

@@brianleeper5737 I work with old stuff, relays and such. T/stat controls blower thru a 90-340 relay. EMER just energizes a relay for me, by-passing a heat strip lockout t/stat in the outdoor unit. Old school. Blower logic? I don't know it, yet.

@@joehead1294 All the thermostat does in EM HEAT mode is connect W1 to R on a call for heat. I can't imagine why the blower would run continuously absent a call for heat.
