This is the best video available for the operation of the remote. Why are temperature settings only allowed in 2 degree increments for Fahrenheit temperatures but 1 degree for temperatures in Celsius? No one seems to know the answer to this, and I seem to be the only person wondering about it.
@rkjelsrud3 жыл бұрын
I suspect it is because the Fahrenheit scale between freezing and boiling has 180 points or degrees (212 boiling, 32 freezing) where Celsius has only 100 points or degrees (100 boiling, 0 freezing). This is a small example of why most of the world uses the metric system.

Economy mode limits the compressor to 60% (on my 09LZAS1) for heating and cooling, which increases the efficiency of the unit. So it may take longer to reach temp (or may not be able to reach temp sometimes) but will use much less electrcity overall.

Awesome job! I asked the guys that installed my unit for an explanation and got the deer in the headlights look. The manual was especially confusing between energy mode and economy. One must override the other I guess. But makes sense to keep it out of economy and let the sensor do the work. At least for my use. I use mine for primarily heating a room over the garage which isn't used much to keeps the pipes from bursting. Live Northern Michigan. Does a great job.

How to setup the Timer (I struggled for nearly 2 weeks with this Timer). The manual is not very user friendly. Steps as follows: 1. Ensure unit clock is set correctly as per manual. This is the key part that I was missing 2. While the Unit is still turned on!!! Press the TIMER SETTING button (WEEKLY will begin flashing) 3. Keep pressing the SELECT button and you will step through the following modes ON, OFF, ON/OFF mode. Select the ON mode for this setup. 4. To set the time you want the heater to come on, press the NEXT button and the clock will start flashing. 5. Press the SELECT button to increase the time on the clock in 5 min intervals until you reach the desired time once you have the time that you want the heater to come on. Press the SEND. 6. The unit will shutdown and your Timer settings will be displayed on the remote control. 7. You will be able to see whether it has worked by checking the wall unit, it should have turned itself off once you pressed SEND and the vents should have closed. 8. You will see a little orange clock lit on the front panel indicating that the TIMER is active. Hope this works for you. We are still jumping around the house celebrating that we got it to work. If you have problems following this let me know.

I put a Fujitsu in my house as a primary source of heat, I oversized it on purpose because I wanted to make sure it could heat my place since it gets down in the negative Temps where I am. It feels like it's always cold in my house. I have it set on 70 but it doesn't feel like 70. Is it because I'm used to forced hot water? I know hot air furnaces are similar in that aspect, always feeling cold. I'm an oil burner tech so I don't know a lot about these things.

Excellent run-down, thank you! I have an older Fujitsu high-wall model (ASTA24LCC, heating output approx. 1-8 kW) which I suspect is oversized for the room(s) it is intended to heat, and it will often heat for a couple of minutes before abruptly stopping, and then won't restart for 5-7 minutes (typical compressor protection). I've thought about getting a wired remote controller/thermostat installed but for now have taken the budget option of wiring an extension onto the return/room air thermistor. The thermistor can then be positioned in a cool corner of the room or in the hallway if heating the whole house. This seems to solve the short-cycling issue, but in Heat mode it tends to overshoot the set point (had it been in Auto mode it would have switched over to cooling already). Is this normal behaviour? I'm aware there are temperature adjust jumpers on the circuit board but I'm not sure exactly what they do and in what modes they take effect. Thanks!

We just recently had the fujitsu heat pumps installed in December and we are having an issue the same as a friend had where 3 lights are flashing on our down stairs basement unit. Our friend had called the service office to get someone to fix it and they had said it had to do with the timer on it and they fixed it. Both my husband and I have tried with the manual to fix this problem without any luck. There was no reason for the timer buttons to be pushed since we don't really do anything in the basement and only adjust the temperature up or down. So we don't understand why there would be a timer issue. Can you explain step by step how to fix this issue because what it says in the manual doesn't fix the problem? Thanks so much.
@vaughanwoodruff3 жыл бұрын
If all of the lights re flashing, it indicates an error. The flashing of the lights indicates the issue. The economy light on the right will flash continuously, and the two other lights will flash in a pattern that indicates the nature of the issue. Count the number of times the operation light (green one on the left) blinks, then the number of blinks for the timer light.
@katherinebohemier5393 жыл бұрын
@@vaughanwoodruff So after looking online to see if I could figure out what error code was happening, I did come across error code 97 to match the flashing lights, which indicates it's the outside unit. Is this something that I can fix myself with using the remote control or is it something I have to call service to come and fix? Do you know why this happened and is this a defect with the product and could happen again? We did have a blowing snow storm that happened the same evening it stopped working properly. When we got up the next morning (this past Sunday) it was cold in our basement and it didn't appear that the unit outside was plugged up with any snow. Thanks so much for any assistance you can offer.

I have the same system. It seems that the remote shows ONLY the temperature that I target to have, but does not show a current temperature. E.g., when I enter a cool room (obviously around 60) and turn the system on, the remote immediately shows 72 because it's my targeted temperature. How could I see a real (not targeted) temperature in the room?
@insourcerenewables8906 жыл бұрын
Julia, the units do not have that feature. You will need an external thermometer in the room to measure the room temperature (a thermostat in the room for your other heating system might suffice). The number on the remote is a setting that targets the air temperature you are asking for.
@cfldriven5 жыл бұрын

I have a 15rls3hy 15000 unit supposedly good to -30C Had a 12000 unit previously installed and they changed it after a month as the smaller 12000 couldn't keep up in heat in my old bungalow poorly insulated. Installed the 15000 unit last winter. Seemed fine never went past 26 on the setting. This winter at the 30C setting fan on high its only getting to 20-21C 10 feet infront of the head unit. Thr kitchen right beside(open concept) is 19. This is after running almost 24 hours at around -20 outside.this unit is starting to do the same as the old 12000 unit did. On max heat setting the temps coming out of it are no always the same.i used a heat gun last year to test on the 12000 unit. Sometimes would be 30 degreesF difference coming out of the head. This makes the difference of the baseboard heaters in the house being on or off at 18C. Im starting to believe its a fujitsu issue. My buddy has a gree extreme. No issues. Ive also noticed bith these units the temp on the remote you need to increase it based on outside temperatures.never made sense to me. To keep 21-2 in house id need to change the remote setting to between 23-30C. But now on 30 it doesn't even maintain 20 threw out the ground floor of the house.
@vaughanwoodruff4 жыл бұрын
It's difficult to diagnose from afar, but here are the points of reference we would look for if a unit was doing well last heating season but not this heating season: 1) Compare heating demand between the two years to determine whether the difference is related to the unit. 2) Check the filters. 3) Increase the temperature setting on the remote to determine whether it maintains comfort, just not at same setting (could be due to a drift in the thermistor accuracy). 4) Check pressure to see if there is a leak.

If you have let it run for 10 minutes and still do not feel hot air, you can try a hard reset by turning the breaker to the heat pump off for 5 minutes and then turning the breaker back on. I suspect you have a refrigeration leak that will need to be repaired.

Same thing is happening to mine. It was just installed a couple days ago. The objective is to feel heat when heat is on; not cool air. I'd never buy this thing if I was a homeowner. The constant turning off, on, off again is distracting and it makes funny noises. There are cold spots in the home and it does not hear evenly. Poor people wasted their money on this thing. I'd rather use my Walmart space heater.

My Fujitsu mini split operates but the flap does not go up. I’ve tried it in swing mode and the flap still doesn’t go up on its own

Hello! My fujitsu has the economy mode light blinking and it doesn't go away even when I keep pushing the button! :( I need it to cool down the temp. My remote doesn't show the economy mode on, only the aircon on the wall does. Help??

Any idea if your remote isn't talking to the wall unit? Changed batteries. Nothing. Even bought a universal. Lost its synch? Help please.

Why does it make a buzzing noise every 10 seconds? I am in a hotel, trying to figure out how to turn the buzzing off, so I can get some sleep. Thanks!

The green light on my unit has been blinking for an hour and not blowing heat. Seem like something is wrong

Blinking lights usually indicate a fault (or possibly defrost cycle running). Best to get a service technician in.

My units are not producing heat. Any idea why?
@insourcerenewables8908 жыл бұрын
Is the controller set to a temperature above the room temp? Try turning it up to max heat just to see if it produces anything when it's cranked. If it still doesn't blow any heat and there are no flashing lights on the indoor unit, it could have a slow refrigerant leak, in which case you should contact the installer.

hi can I use my air con to suck out all the smoke from my room
@cfldriven5 жыл бұрын
The condenser only circulates the inside room air. It has no way of exhausting or introducing outside air.

would you happen to know how to change Celsius to Fahrenheit
@insourcerenewables8909 жыл бұрын
+Violet_ 2uesdae If you have an RLS2, try holding the temperature up button for 5-8 seconds. This should open up the menu to change between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Press the temperature up button again to switch between the two. Press start/stop to make the selection. Hope this works!
