I never got into it I only have about a dozen hours. I never found the gadgets to be as useful as they should be, but I assume I was just bad at the game. Any tips?

@@Robofrosty Use the time stop function excessively. Gives you time to think. And the gadgets are incredibly useful as long as you consider how long they're active. Also using the ship that can take off sections of the enemy ship is amazing if you don't like the prospect of them escaping.

@@Robofrosty Gadgets are literally the best thing in the game. Whenever you reach an obstacle of any kind, press space to pause, look at the obstacle, and at what you have in your inventory, and choose the gadget that will that makes it the easiest to solve the problem at hand, WHILE keeping the rest of the ship in mind, as there are gadgets you might need later for specific things, like disabling a teleporter, or by passing a targets armor/shield.

I think your pod got disconnected when you went down, even though you personally escaped before they could put you on it. Bad luck glitching the guy forward of the ship haha. Good times.

I think it's usually worth sitting in the cockpit and applying the brakes. Later you can then pre-position your pod immediately outside a window so your captive is sucked straight into it.

I miss these videos. Heat Signature is, alongside Slay the Spire, one of only two games I still play regularly years afer release that still keeps me surprised and keeps me interested.

I recently replayed HeatSig, daily challenges and all. I think at the high level I never bothered luring enemies to places for traps to work, instead i'd just close in to point-blank distance, use the (crash/acid) trap and whack them. Since I'm at zero range, there's no penalty for teleporting the trap back to me, so I could potentially clear a 3-person room of armored enemies before they'd raise an alarm or shoot me. It's basically the only method of dealing with armored enemies silently and nonlethally, if you don't have the Facebreaker anyway.

listening to your complaints about your own game is hilarious! We've all been there. 😄 i'm mostly surprised by you not playing the entire game in slowmo and frame-advance. You were just running around at full speed and it almost worked!

It's a shame you pushed things too far with that glitch trap! Targets can get 'stuck' under ships if they're matching velocity and in close proximity when they're spaced. I too learnt this the hard way (the Angel craft's 'body retrieval' helps!). The plan was a good one, though Can't believe the best top-down stealth im-sim is six years old already. Madness

I don't think i played this much past the first run, and the second 100% all clear run. So it's been three years. But because my computer can't upgrade to Win 10 without major problems, I'm probably not going to get around to playing this game again before the timer is up.

It is quite troublesome how players, guards, and your own ship can get 'stuck' on the NPC ships. Would be better if they couldn't collide at all, I'd think. Gets especially messy when trying to jump from one side of an exploded room to the other.
