Hey there, fresh subscriber brought here by the Phoenix Point video. Any chance you've heard of the "Terror From the Void" mod? It's basically an enhanced edition, with tons and tons of improvements over the game. It would be very interesting to know your thoughts on it

One of my funniest moments was when I used a wrench to knock out a guard with a melee attack, threw it to knock out a second, used a second wrench to knock out a guard with a melee attack, threw that second wrench at a fourth guard to knock him out, and then repeated this pattern with a third wrench to knock out a total of 6 guards in one room. The hilarious part was just imagining someone triple-wielding wrenches like some sort of juggler or like Roronoa Zorro wields his swords. Another funny moment was when I went into a mission to capture a particular target alive, but forgot to bring a concussive weapon with me, and the only solution I could think of involved me shooting myself and my target out a window.

"Rogue-like-ish". I dont care somehow, Rogue is paying child support.
@lhrosts70827 ай бұрын
I still remember that one capture ghost clause (must not kill nor knock out anyone, must not be seen) mission with a timer of, like, 10 seconds of in-game time. I somehow managed to get to the room with the target, using even those gadgets I usually disregarded as basically useless. And here I am, standing in front of him, a mere second or so before he reacts to my presence, around 3 seconds till the mission ends. I strike at him with my concussive hammer. He's got armor. I have no guns at all, not even talking AP concussive ones which I need here. I throw my hammer into the window, spacing the room. We both fly out and I pick him and myself up with the pod. Mission success! I loved this game ever since.

This game is the reason I really respect Tom Francis. He noticed a lot of players didn't like the perma-death of characters, so he added an option to turn it off. Lesser devs would not do that.
@GeorgeNoiseless7 ай бұрын
Give Tom Francis' first game on Steam, Gunpoint a go as well. It's this game's linear, but quite entertaining projectile-jumping trap-wiring PI predecessor. And its dynamic soundtrack is absolutely FABULOUS.

I have a very fond memory of Previously Recorded playing Gunpoint and Jack punching a downed guard literally 1,000 times and saying, "It's like a point and click adventure game, where my fist is the game and their face is the adventure."

I have no idea how you have managed to leave out the single most important fact about this game. Slipstreams stack. Multiplicatively. Chugging four of them allows you to run into a room full of guards, grab the keycard, off one of their backs and disappear, and they wouldn't even be able to percieve you.

@WoodledudeАй бұрын
@@NafenX Eh, that one's pretty simple. If you Visitor, then Visitor to a different spot, the first Visitor yanks you first, back to your starting location, then the second one yanks you to the "midpoint" location when it triggers. It takes a bit of time to go off, but it's a great way to get stuck in places you can't get into normally - Intentionally or otherwise. If I had a pair of self-charging Visitors...

aw man i know this game, a real joy this one. one crazy mission i remember was explosive started to get slung around and part of the ship go blown up, the part leading to my objective of an item. i tried to access it with my pod but it wouldn't fit but then i figured if the ship went a certain direction and i voided myself i could slip into the cut off section and get what i needed and it fuckin worked and to think i did it all while the ship was barreling towards an enemy station because i tripped the alarm.

The gameplay of heat signature is amazing - but there are certainly some structural issues. I wish the whole game was structured more like the daily challenges are, or even some sort of FTL- or StS-like map - something to give you a reason to care more about the outcome of individual missions

Ah Heat Signature, one of the few games I've 100% the achievements on and beat 3+ times. On the topic of the writing, i enjoy the Sovereign character. His explanation for a corporation turning into a living creature was a great read. For combat my favorite strategy was dual wrenchs, the throw command gets you a ton of value. You probably already know the throw glitch with traps. You throw a trap, teleport it to yourself, then activate it and it uses the momentum and direction from the throw while being active. Since you progress through ships, I find using traps on purpose really difficult cause it's uncommon to retreat. But yeah, Heat Signature is crazy good. Plus I love the mechanics that push the player to make new characters. The lore explanation being that their exploits are boring to the unliberated populace is just so good.

Since playing State of Decay 2, I've completely come to believe that gameplay (when it's really good) is the story. This game looks like a gem for a small circle of people, which has not yet gained fame in mainstream circles, and this makes it feel even more valuable and personal. I see what you did with Miami Hotline music in the background ;) You got new subsciber (after XCOM videos really) but I glad to be here now

Heat Sig is great, it's a good pick up and play where you can get bored of the cycle after playing for a bit, but then come back to it once something sparks your interest again. Which I would be doing, but honestly I'm juggling XPiratez and CK3 as my current fixation games.
