Canelo did more damage with his punches. Ggg threw more punches & was more aggressive But, was not as effective. Canelo hit ggg more flush & solid. Ggg threw a lot more jabs but was not able to land very cleanly. Ggg had many chance to get to canelo when canelo would go to the ropes but, he was hesitant to go in to much because canelo would counter him with hard shots. What did we find out in this fight, We found out Canelo is much faster not only with his Hands but with his feet as well. I thought Canelo was supposed to be slow . Canelo took everything triple G threw at him and was never hurt . Triple G has great stamina but Canelo proved he is every bit as strong and perhaps stronger. He's definitely younger and only going to get better. Canelo closed the show in the 12 round. Ggg was for the first time very frustrated. Triple G now knows why Chavez Junior could not do anything against canelo. Most everyone thought ggg was going to knockout canelo for sure. To be sure, it was a great fight & it seemed that the majority of Mexican fans there were going for ggg you could hear them yelling ggg throughout the fight. Ggg was a beast & so was canelo but also, Ggg's face was a bit more marked up than canelo. I'm looking forward to the rematch. Props to both warriors & thank you for that awesome awesome fight!

topvoice1 if he was frustrated, he would've T'd off when Canelo was up against the ropes. You're contradicting yourself. GGG outlanded Canelo severely, not as accurate and didn't land as many big shots but he did land some and put the pressure on every round, probably worked for 30 minutes compared to Canelos combined 6. GGG got hit with multiple big shots within seconds in round 12 and kept walking forward. It goes on who one the rounds. Most people and I, judged it 7-5 GGG win. There's an argument for GGG winning round 10 and for Canelo to get a 10-8 in round 12 but he definitely, did not WIN

Other people think GGG won, but the truth is that they only go with the perception that GGG threw more punches ( approximately missed 500 out of 700) and therefore he won, but canelo landed cleanly and strongly. Just look at their faces GGG did not have a right hand the entire match.

Erik has a great point, canelo connected cleaner and more powerful punches. Ggg was in fact coming forward, but with everyones logic he won because of that reason. Then i think mayweather at this point will be a good 40 losses in his career. He never attacked and never initiated. Bottom line it was an excellent fight and Canelo's efforts discredited because of the drunk judge.

This is one of those fights that's about appreciation, but as far as judging the fight as one round I think Canelo won . I think that if Canelo would have done what his corner was telling him and fight in the center of the ring he would have beaten GGG much easier.

So let me get this straight, and please anyone saying Canelo won, intelligently and unbiasedly explain. According to compubox numbers GGG landed more punches than Canelo, which was obvious if you watch the fight. He was the aggressor and Canelo took rounds off because he was tired, consistently moving backward and on his bike. Now I know what Canelo fans will say... He landed the better shots even though GGG landed more. Well better shots in scoring means power shots. Well according to the stats Canelo landed only 4 more power punches than GGG. He was out landed in the other category by 53. The fact that GGG didn't knock out Canelo is irrelevant to him winning or not. That is another point made by Canelo fans who somehow think that if you survive a knockout artist then that means you won. True, GGG missed a lot of punches, but Canelo also intelligently moved away from conflict which took away GGG's ability to land continuous big shots at a rate of high accuracy. Anyway you look at it GGG WON the fight. He didn't destroy Canelo but he made him look average. GGG is aging and it is obvious from his last two fights that age is starting to take affect. The fight was judged in Canelos favor to set up a rematch, which in my opinion works to his benefit as GGG will continue to age. There is a reason why this fight did not take place 2 years ago. Testosterone begins to diminish on avg at age 35, so with most athletes you will see a decline in their game from that point on, especially if they are not using performance enhancers. Canelo is the big draw for Golden boy and is the face of boxing right now, it is bad for him to lose especially since he is young and has many more fights and dollars to bring in. Him surviving the KO and making it to a decision allowed for a robbery in order to improve his chances of winning a rematch. If this were the other way around the whole world would be in chaos saying Canelo was robbed. My last point... look at the body language of each fighter at the end, not the bruises on their faces as Canelo fans would say. Canelo looks like a man who was not very confident of his victory, let alone a draw and GGG was pretty certain he won. Sorry Canelo fans. Before May weather fight Canelo was ready and the greatest ever, he was going to kill Floyd. After the fight you said, well he was too young and Floyd ran, but now he could beat him easily. Before this fight you said he would beat GGG because he was the better boxer and improved so much since losing to Floyd, and now what is the excuse?

I'm so glad some people still use their brains. Triple G obviously hurt him. He was avoiding contact at all costs. When GGG hit him with the over hand right the rope was the only thing that saved Canelo. I genuinely think GGG held back. He did not look as if he was going for the kill. Also want to note that Canelo took a body shot near the ribs and had to make a show to buy time cuz it had to much power behind it. I sincerely believe Golivkin only displayed 70% power. Canelo won the last three rounds? you gave canelo round 12? Golovkin didnt land any good shots? golovkin landed several shots which visibly hurt canelo and had him running marathons backwards. Canelo showed his tremendous defensive skills? getting outlanded , hurt, pushed around the ring, lost total control of the fight, many of canelos shots were not very clean he also missed a hell of a lot. Mr. Barnett first not saying canelo won. I believe in the draw. Golovkin threw more punches but Canelo successfully landed more in ratio. Second, 118-110 looks bad but not really....that scorecard reflects 2 more rounds won by Canelo from 6 to 8 unfortunately that equates to 4 rounds lost for golovkin b/c well math. 8rounds to 4. All the while 115-113 reflects 1 more round won and 2 rounds lost making it 7rounds to 5 for golovkin. In essence considering how close all the rounds were 7:5 for GGG 8:4 Canelo and 6:6 for both is definitely a Draw in my eyes. No clear cut winner, honestly.

On a championship bout it should never be a draw, that's how you know it's rigged. The challenger is supposed to come take the belt not run for 12 rounds and hope for a draw. It's bullshit, and if it wasn't for the fact Canelo is Mexican, there's no way this fight would of been a draw.

Canelo Alvarez vs GGG Golovkin. I think it was a good decision. It was a close fight. I don't see what's the big controversial about the call decision. It was a real close fight. Not clear who won and looked like either could of win. It was not a one side fight but what it was. A war that was Not really finish. So we have a rematch to be make.

GGG pressed the whole fight while Alvarez was just trying to make it to the end. Any one who understands boxing could see Canello was trying to win the first minute of the round & then backing up for the next two minutes. Golovkin held the centre of the ring for huge portions of the fight. Both men can dish it out & take it in equal measure, but this night Golovkin was superior. 116-112. Look at round 10 again. One good spot for Alvarez early on, but Golovkin takes over.

I just scored the fight. 6 rounds each, 114-114. Watch the fight again. It was a draw. GGG WON round 11 and 12 but not to win the fight. Rematch should be better. Canelo was tired. Given him an A for Heart and a B in performance. GGG Overall was okay, B+. At the end of the day, Draw is fair. God Bless You All..

Anyone who saw this as a Canelo win watched a different fight to me. GGG all the way. Canelo may have won 3 or 4 rounds at the most. GGG will feel quite rightly robbed. Good fight, poor decision. Esta es una derrota animicamente para el 3 G siendo el temible ponchador , siendo peso medio natural, mas grande lo hicieron ver mal, aun que digan lo que digan , por que no pudo cortarle el cuadrilatero a canelo si es tan bueno como dicen tecnicamente?Lo hicieron ver mal , nunca conecto solido a canelo, canelo al menos en 3 ocaciones estuvo a punto de tumbarlo, muy buena pelea canelo, solo que ese tipo de boxeo en mexico solo se lo reconocen a un boxeador cubano un boricua o un mayate, para el pueblo en mexico nuestros boxeadores tienen que ser medios pendejos y aun que lleven la pelea ganada tienen que pararse a que los conecten, para que asi seas un idolo de ellos.

"GgG WOn ThE FiGht" who landed the better punches? Who was trowing punches but missing 40% of the time? "BuT gGg WaS WAlkInG hiM dOWn" did you really expect to see canelo a clearly smaller guy to sit there and trade punches with GGG? Really? The bigger guy will always have the advantage when it comes to controlling the position of the smaller fighter period. Go watch the Pacquiao vs Margarito fight, why was nobody complaining when Pacquiao was running from Margarito? Everyone is butt hurt because the smaller fighter fought a smart fight. Pacquiao did the same thing agains margarito the problem is not with boxing the problem are boxing fans. The expect every fight to be a highlight video where fighters are consistently trowing and trading punches. Canelo is a better boxer period, when he was being offensive, he landed clean shots and barely missed, when he was being defensive he made ggg miss 40% of his punches. (And I am talking missing as in ggg was punching nothing but air) ggg was the bigger guy he was SUPPOSED to walk canelo down, but he couldn't land anything substancial.

Ilikeindimusic it's not about who landed the better shots, boxing is determined by rounds and clearly, triple g won 7-8 out of 12 rounds. Rewatch the fight.

Sumi y0 won 7-8 rounds? By what standard? Ok he was walking him down putting pressure. But what good is that if you aren't dining anything with that? I would agree with you if canelo was being backed up because he was getting hurt, but that didn't happen. GGG power was doing nothing agains canelo, and every time he cornered canelo GGG was swinging at the air, or getting countered punched. On the other hand when canelo was on the offensive he was landing good combination and clean hits.

Sumi y0 also how do you think rounds are won? Punches that's how, who ever lands more clean punches during a round usually wins the round, and that's what I saw. I saw GGG being very offensive but missing 40% of the time and the few clean shots he landed weren't enough to hurt canelo in any substantial way. And I saw a smart fight by canelo making GGG miss and landing good combinations and clean counters.

Ilikeindimusic canelo was 100% not offensive the entire fight. If you look st every round, canelo would engage like the first 30 seconds of the round and people would just go crazy. The rest of the 2 minutes, GGG his took over and wakes him down, canelo was not fighting to win, he was fighting to survive.
