Heated tobacco products: what are they and why are we talking about them?

The tobacco industry is attempting to market heated tobacco products (HTPs) as safer alternative to conventional cigarettes. In reality, these products are not harmless. This short video by WHO/Europe provides short facts about HTPs and recommendations with the aim to inform, so everyone can live a tobacco-free life.

Heated tobacco products are big tobacco companies’ way of getting into the vaping market and target people that are already smokers, teenagers nowadays go straight to flavoured vapes, not these. Question is - are heated tobacco products less harmful than normal tobacco? For people that are already smokers, would these be less harmful than normal cigarettes or not?

@@sten260Marlboro would be great if it was just tobacco in it, they add 8 to 10 different chemicals to it so there is that.

Of course the video that shows you how to use them has 219k views. But the one from the WHO has only 2.6k... This world is fucked.

Maybe if the video was more informative and not an activist billboard people would actually listen. Research a bit and see who is WHO actually.

They say "don't use tobacco", "nicotine is harmful" in the video. Of course, we understand that, but the question is if we use tobacco already and want a safer way to use it what are the alternatives? Are these devices riskier than regular tobacco or are they a little bit safer? And again, of course, we understand that a little bit safer does not mean completely safe.

video is stupid, nobody is saying that heated tobacco is healthy or it's going to prolong your life, not even the producers. But is it less harmful or more harmful than a regular cigarette? They didn't answer that.. there's a good chance it's less harmful because it doesn't leave that nasty yellow residue in your lungs that you get from a burning cigarette
