Good instructions. Just replaced mine. Top deck and windshield washer plate went smooth. I did not need to take out the other parts shown as I could get to the hoses easily and the clamps were facing the right way for channel locks. I had less trouble with the vent pipe under the consol drawer, I just pulled up on the piece going under the carpet and it came up enough to slip the short piece out. I had an extra strut you did not have on the driver's side from floor to the vent manifold. Take note, when you get a replacement core, it may not have the foam wrap around it and the old one is glued to the old core and probably soaked with coolant. I used the plastic foam sheet in place of foam, as it won't act like a sponge. Wrap a couple layers to insure snug fit. Took me a couple hours to do the whole job. Extra half hour for stopping to review this video along the way and getting tools together and put away.

A lot was removed to get to the hose connections from above. Could those be accessed from below? Of course a lift would be nice.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I followed your easy instructions yesterday and save us over $550 in labor. I can't thank you enough, really. Not to mention, while I had the shrouds off the engine compartment I found a vacuum line that was loose and causing my van to run really rough. Bonus! Thanks again!

Hey there I need to know what is the part you took out at 10'50" in this vid ?? Mine is filling up with water & going down to wherever it goes. I can't find info on that part anywhere ... the nozzle right beside the cabin filter intake... Thanks for making this video.. very helpful.

I think that the blend air door is a separate procedure.

Nice is there a expancion valve on a Ford Windstar ,2003??

I've got a Freestar but I guess that outer stuff is about the same. If I can just get to the heater hoses I'm cutting them and putting in a splice. Heaters are for women and wimps, put on more clothes. No way am I going through all that trouble of getting to the heater core, I'm too old and arthritic and no way I could afford the labor charge, barely getting by on social security.

Nice Job, made it simple , Ford made it accessible to the shade tree, Now A days the entire dashboard has to come out, THATS WHY I WONT BUY ANYTHING MADE PAST 2003 !

Is this the same procedure for the 1998 Ford Winstar?

Great video! How close is the blend door? I have a 1995 windstar that has a broken blend door. Do you know if the process is similar for that year? I would like to avoid removing the whole dash if possible.
