Heathcote / Swan Hill / Murray River / Mildura / Broken Hill - Road Trip Middle Australia
After a few weeks back in Geelong we head out to Heathcote and spend some time with friends for Easter on their property. The kids have a ball in the buggy's, motor bikes, getting dirty - then we head to Swan Hill to see more friends and sped a solid day organising, washing and preparing for our next adventure up the Middle of Australia. While in Swan Hill we check out the Pioneer Settlement and immerse ourselves in the History of Australia and Swan Hill.
In Mildura we scored ourselves a super free camp right on the Murray, the next went and tasted the wines and oranges as well as the Gem store.
Next stop is Broken Hill & Silverton
We find a great little camp on the trotting track and head out to the old mining town of SIlverton, they like to refer to this town as a ghost town. We loved the old building and history of what it was like to live in these conditions. This also includes the Max Mad 2 museum and heading out to see where the movie was filmed. As sunset we watch the sun go down at the Living Desert and Sculptures. Next we make our way to Flinders Ranges and right before we did we payed our respects at the Line of Lode Miners Memorial.

@@Donna.Buckingham it's about 2 1/2 hours North of Broken Hill. A lot of people stop off there before heading out to Cameron Corner (where 3 states meet)

@Darryll’s Travels yes Tex is a fairly good free diver too. He easily was doing 10 meters and holding his breath for a minute when we were in QLD last year. Can’t wait to get to Ningaloo!

@@thetravellwells5820 oh it’s so lovely up there. We normally camp once a year on the Murray near tocumwal too and that is gorgeous too with more flowing water you can swim in. If you like wine trentham wines is awesome and on the much cheaper side too.
