Look, I can see some comparrisons with Heathers and the films that came after it like Clueless, Mean Girls and even Easy A. But Heathers is very dark and sadistic in tone, which the latter films are not.

True, but Heathers was a response to the teen high school movies that dominated the 80's. It was a commentary on the reality of high school and issues like glamorizing suicide and teen bullying and a deconstruction of the lovey dovey movies that made stereotypes like the bitchy popular girl and the dark, mystic bad boy in the trench coat staples of pop culture. Mean Girls was much more toned down, but still a very good commentary on high school life in the mid-2000's. Just a more family friendly/post-Columbine version of Heathers where people only die in daydreams and in the Burn Book.

Heathers is dark, edgy and has a fantastic meaningful script. Mean Girls is fun but just a disneyfied Heathers. Clueless is again fun but just fluffy nonsense with no plot or relatable content.

You do realize that Clueless is based on a classic Victorian Era novel by Jane Austin and it sticks very close to the plot. Read up on the novel Emma then watch it again.

I don't agree. The popular girls are pretty steryotipical. The stupid, the follower, the leader, and that's pretty much it. While H. Chandler is not perfect, she is treated like sexual object and effects her selfesteem. Duke has bullimia and is barely alloed to speak, McNamara has anxiety. Cady, Cady is... meehh. Veronica is strong female character that doesn't betray her friends, leave toxic realtionship, stands up for herself and what she believes in, and in the end - learns to stands up for the left out as well, and stops caring for stupid things such as repution.

Mean Girls has this stereotype but it disappears according the movie on purpose to make a moral lesson in the end, all the fights and bullyings are realistic, something someone could really do in real life because it's sneaky and not that dramatic as the other movies show
