I am a total box checker!! This past homeschool year was not so exhausting because I finally learned that I didn't have to check all of the boxes!

This is great Heather! I hear you on #2! I am such a task-oriented person. I'm actually thinking about switching to a year round school schedule. I've been amazed by the support from the homeschool community here on KZbin!

Wow the 6 weeks on 1 week off is a smart idea I haven't thought about that. I just recently experienced burnout were teaching a super hyper but smart 4 year old. It gets challenging for sure especially with younger babies in the house.

Yes! I completely get that! :) Especially for how young your little one is I would def take more breaks :)

We have daily, weekly and monthly to do lists. I work better with lists but not schedules. Life is pretty unpredictable and we love to be able to take advantage of what comes along and not have to rework the schedule.

thank you sooooo much! I can definitely relate😬😩Love your channel and videos, I have subscribed to your channel late last year and I just began my homeschooling journey with my children. I am currently homeschooling 3 of my kiddos and while its a joy and blessing, it definitely has its challenges. This video was just what I needed, thankyou, you have such a beautiful family, and please continue making these lovely and encouraging videos for us homeschooling mamas out there. 🌼🌻🌼🌻🌼🌻🌼🌻🌼🌻🌼🌻

Great tips! Totally agree on the "slave to schedule" topic. I used to do this and frustrate myself and everyone else! Flexibility is key. And yes, I am also a recovering perfectionist!

Hi Heather! Just came across your channel and I’m finding it very helpful. I’ve been homeschooling for four years (5th grade son) and I think I’m going through burnout! I’ve always been part of a coop, but lately I feel exhausted. Thanks for the tips... I can totally relate! New subscriber!

Hi and welcome! Oh the burnout is no joke! We just took a week off of school because I needed to call a time-out on all the STUFF!: :) Now we are back at it and happy again. Take the time and find the support.

I love the six weeks on 2 weeks off idea. I think overseas the year round homeschool do 3 weeks on 1 week off which is also a nice idea.
@HeatherTorresTV7 жыл бұрын
Oh that sounds nice too! I might experiment with that next year.

Thanks for watching! Have you experienced homeschool burnout? Oh man! It's not fun! What are some of YOUR tips for avoiding the burnout?
@HeatherTorresTV7 жыл бұрын
It depends on what your states requirements are first as to what type of homeschooling you can do. Then it will depend on if you want to do a paid curriculum or a free one. You can also check with the local charter schools and the free K-12 through your state.

Yes! Contentment! Community was the big one for me! I don't know what I would do without my buddy DeeDee...we brainstorm together, plan together, cry together! LOL. We even started a KZbin channel together! We'd love for you to check it out and get your feedback! ♥️
