Very nice job. Nice set up with the stonework base. Will it burn corn? Just curious since I've seen stoves that do.

I started out with a corn burner Chuck. The starch in the corn turns to sugar when burned and clogs up the stove real bad...constant over burn fires (and it was a high end manufacturer ) On top of that you attract rats and mice to feed on the corn and end up infested in weeks. Cost a small fortune to kill them all. Went to pellets but couldn't heat the entire house so finally installed a coal pellet stove...90,000 BTU heats all 3 floors of my house on 1 bag (40lbs.) of rice coal a day. Keystoker is the brand same set up but more heat.

I've just seen a video or two on them. Don't really need them down here, just curious. Sounds like the corn was a real pain. Wonder why they don't tell you that in the ads :)

My CAB 50 has been very troublesome. It heats great but I've replaced just about every part in 6 years. I think mine was built on a Monday or a Friday.
@JohnSolar2833 жыл бұрын
Wow I buy used I have 4
@randyhamilton6567 Жыл бұрын
Wow sounds like mine. First 2 months I owned mine it was junk. I quit using it and it sat for several years. I started replacing parts and making it work. Been 15 years. Every part has been replaced atleast once. Since day one I can't get it to run with out by passing the vacuum switch. I run it only when I am around it.
@enumrob Жыл бұрын
@randyhamilton6567 Yes same hwre.. I've bypassed the vac switch, two snap discs have been bypassed. Surprisingly I've never had trouble with the computer brain box.. it's a good stove now and it's reliable too.
@yankey48 жыл бұрын
Lets see that bad boy running. How much power do you need to run it? I did not know there where stoves that ran off bunny feed. That is HOT!!
@JohnSolar2838 жыл бұрын
I will have a few vids up soon on its workings.

They are great stoves. Back in the early 80's I installed a Vermont Castings wood burner in our house. The pellet burners were relatively new and the pellet cost over wood was prohibitive. But I'm sure now pellets are cheaper. A solid rick of hardwood now locally is running $75 and up! Back then I cut a lot, but we could buy 5 rick for $100. Burning 6-7 rick per heating season. Very Clean Installation! Great job and thanks for sharing!
