Truly mesmerizing to watch, great choice in music to accompany the flames. Terrible shame about destroying the liner to you forge, fortunately not difficult to fix, just time consuming. Good luck with that rebuild, brother. Skäl!

I did give myself metal fume fever welding galv steel. I well remember it like the worst flu, shaking and head ache. Not the sort of mistake that I'm likely to make a third time.

Ive never gotten it bad, thankfully.

@@Friidom2 I've only heard of a few people who died from Burning Galv in a forge, it doesn't look like that chain let out as much as what killed Paw Paw Wilson, but its still not good to inhale.

Thanks for all the likes guys! WOW! This is what put my Devil-Forge out of commission. Though I did re-purpose the burners for FrankenForge. Get a Friis Forge Hat on my etsy store, Only 29.95! www.etsy.com/ca/shop/FriisForge

I'm just coming off of a bad case Zinc Oxide poisoning, and it is absolutely miserable. Symptoms just like flu and to some degree covid. I'm on day 3 since exposure, and am still not back to normal.

My question is, how did this galvanized chain destroy the forge? (I'm aware that galvanized metal releases toxic gas when heated) And for that matter, did you know the chain was galvanized before heating it, or was this an unfortunate event?
@Friidom24 жыл бұрын
It coated the forge in a massive amount of zinc smoke and dust and is now coated in a white powder. It needs to be re-lined and cleaned. So, its currently inoperable. im using the burners on frankenforge. lol. It was a mistake. I thought I had removed the zinc with electrolysis, alas, no.

@@Friidom2 Ouch. Hopefully you can get it repaired soon. At least you learned something out of it. :P

Very rarely does one get to see this happen from a safe place, I understand it isnt going to be for everyone.
