I’m 67 and I have a big Afro and watching your video has given me a lot of help on how to maintain it properly. Thank you so much 😊

I’m 56, worn my hair ‘natural’ for 30 years, after teenage obsession with perm! Realised the ‘true type’ of my hair around age 20 - can you believe that! There were no advisors around then, just hot irons, curly perms and anything to hide or change our God given ‘fro. This video is great; I have subscribed.❤

Another tip is to use thread to stretch the hair, therefore you don't need alot of hair bands plus it's easier and REALLY stretches the hair no heat...

Goregous, I will definitely try this method but it's 2 o'clock in the morning and I work at 8:45 and have head of thick ass multi-textured/pattern hair that takes all day to dry. I should probably do a test run on this style before I walk out looking sideshow bob LOL

You should try African threading. My hair was bone straight with no heat whatsoever. I spritzed it to add kink to it and get a huge fro. It take a while to dry but I do mine on damp hair and it usually dries overnight. But if you do it on soaking hair it will take at least 2 days to dry.💁🏾

I just ordered the Jovi Shai. I have been rocking my fro now for going on the second week. The last time..2 years ago...I made the mistake of using a blow dryer. this time...I'm trying to use the right products. I am using Mizani co-wash and conditioners. I also use African Pride leave in conditioner. I like your fro because your texture reminds me of my own...so I decided to try the Jovi Shai. Looking forward to giving it a go. Any other suggestions?

Greetings, SUPER CUTE AFRO!!! Reminds me of my big afro from the '70s. Do you retwist nightly? How often do you moisturize and with what? How are your ends after being exposed? Do you find that people want to come up and touch your hair - without asking? 😃
@ericaleshai8 жыл бұрын
DIANE JOHNSON thank you! 😊 And I do retwist nightly. I moisturize every other day with Jovi Shai Beauty's Shea Coconut Body Conditioner. My ends do get a little scraggly. I clip them every two to three months or so. And I guess it's my demeanor lol, but no one touches my hair without my permission.

should I seal the oil or the leave-in conditioner for natural hair? I braided my hair and when I took it down it was fine. it was a damp day. by the time I got to the bus stop my hair looked like cotton candy. how can I maintain my style when the weather humid and rainy?
@ericaleshai7 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I'd have to look more into that, because I have the same problem. I've tried different oils and conditioners but they don't seem to work in regards to the weather. My afro totally shrinks when it's damp outside. Once I find out how to maintain the style despite the weather, I'll post a video about it!

When you're in hot or humid weather does your fro shrink up a ton? Mine does and I don't know how to stop that. I love the beautiful bold look but at the end of a long hot day my hair always shrinks to nearly 50% of what it was a few hours before.
@catmom135358 жыл бұрын
try to use anti-humecants they're going to stop you hair from absorbing water from the air :)
@ericaleshai8 жыл бұрын
My hair does shrink in humid environments. What I do normally is pick it out regularly throughout the day. That seems to help. I haven't tried anti-humectants, but that sounds like a great option!
