Hi, I haven't used setting lotion in a long time so the formula could be different now. But back in the day you were supposed to dilute the setting lotion 1 part lotion to 1 part water. Caution to the twist out-ers out there. Please read the bottle before using the lotion, you may need to dilute it.
@chal3t2 жыл бұрын
You are correct. My g-ma was a licensed beautician back in the day. It is supposed to be diluted. What’s in the bottle is concentrated. I think the directions on the bottle mentions that. Otherwise I think you end up using more. That said I’ve used it undiluted on dripping wet hair for nice hold when doing a rollerset. It also helps seal split ends when applied there. It’s a great product and her hair is BEAUTIFUL!
@ArianaWoods112 Жыл бұрын
@@chal3tI have the same bottle she used in this video and it says it’s a ready to use formula with mo mixing necessary.
@chal3t Жыл бұрын
@@ArianaWoods112 the bottle that I have says on the front that it is a professional concentrated formula; and on the back in the directions it says dilute for hair type and it gives directions on how to dilute it; so maybe what I’m using is a different formula of the lottabody setting lotion than what you and she are using;
@ArianaWoods112 Жыл бұрын
@@chal3t probably, when I was a kid, my mom used to use the one you have to dilute

Try using black soap shampoo and a good deep conditioner to moisturize your hair. It may be able to combat dry itchy scalp and dry strands. Also try Shea butter mixed with some other oils such as coconut oil, avocado oil, olive oil, or castor oil to seal in moisture. My last recommendation would be use aloe Vera gel from the plant instead of a deep conditioner if you have time to blend it. Good luck on your hair journey.

I am so happy I stumbled onto this video today. It is fantastic. My hair is heat damaged, and I’ve been transitioning for about a year. I only just stopped flat iron in recently. I see so many videos of youtubers using both Lottabody products, and I see now that it’s not necessary. I found some spoolies on eBay last year for 99 cents, but not anymore. Where do you get yours? They seem very overpriced.

Ok third comment , I have now watched and understand, you used BK to “ stretch” your hair from shrinkage ( how long did you wait before taking them out to Style and SET the STRETCH with more product and the spoolie? Am sure the small hair size also counts. ( Too small for Bantu right? ) Please let’s know how long this lasts you and how you maintain for bedtime /following morning. Thank you! So much
@PureEstrogen7 жыл бұрын
My hair is low porosity, but I don't use that to determine how I style it. I just go with what works. I used all the listed products, but it's curly because of how I curled my hair. I always make sure its smooth when wrapping. You don't need all four stylers. You can just use a cream and either mousse or foam. Also, bantu knots are fine. You don't have to use spoolies. I usually wait 30 minutes to rest my arms after detangling then I remove the bantu knots and curl my hair. For bantu knots, you will need bigger sections than the ones I used on the spoolies. Maybe 4 or 5 times larger. Most of my rollersets last 4-5 days on average. One lasted 7 days before when I used flax seed gel. I will do a maintenance video later. I need to perfect my night time routine first.

I hope you use a professional brand clarifying shampoo 2nd a month for the hair to remove the product buildup. After a conditioning mask you should add spray on leave in conditioner so the other products have penetrate the hair vs piling it all up. Less is more no matter the hair type. Your itchy scalp might be due to the shampoo and conditioner you use. If it’s itchy right after shampooing the product is not cleaning or it’s stripping your scalp of everything VS cleaning it. Not to mention a lot of the products in this video dry out your hair. They are alcohol based products.
