The only thing that lets it down is the un-realistic acceleration..it’s a shame as the rest is superb
@gwrdriver16602 жыл бұрын
Yeah, if I raced off on a single yellow like that, my driver manager would haul me over the coals for that. Potential spad. I know this only a model, but this is the reason it looks unrealistic and detracts from what is a superb model and relatively easy to put right, I would have thought. Again, an absolute superb model. Terrific looking layout with fantastic details. The weather really looks bleak and freezing., even the water has that look of a thin covering of treacherous ice.😊 That’s a great vantage point gif tge trainspotters.

Great layout. Would be even greater if it was pre-dated by thirty years or so to the days of proper trains. I used to go to the Mirfield area spotting in the early/middle 1950s, it was a lot busier in those days and there was a lot more variety on what you saw. (Lowers head to below parapet to avoid flak !)

I’m looking forward to seeing this. One question though, I thought it was set in the 1970s? They seem to run trains from the 1990s (trainload grey 37/4s) which doesn’t fit.

I saw this layout and the guy that owns it on the TV last night on that Hornby programme. He knows his stuff, he was demonstrating how to do scenery He ran that classic car hiring place but he's finished that, made his pile and was saying that he hopes to tour it 'round the country next year putting it up in those department stores that have all closed. I think all that's a good idea as it'll be interesting to go in them and they're big enough to house it. The best thing for me though is that it's diesels and dirty 1970-80's

Seeing those open coal wagons makes me think they could easily and cheaply be repurposed for summer passenger services, just hose them down, add a set of plastic garden chairs, hey presto! The end to over crowded trains, in the summer. As freight travels slower, you could hop on and off without having to bother with stations.
@stephenweston18073 жыл бұрын
Very impressive modelling and good to be able to run long trains without ridiculously tight radii bends. Only one negative - next time you do a video, could you ask the person with the vacuum cleaner to turn it off for a few minutes! :) This video would work a lot better with a different audio.

Hello Heljan Uk, how can i help? Hello its Heaton Lodge again, do you have any wagons in stock? Yes off course, we have the new cargowaggons just off the boat.. Ok great can we make an order for some of those please? Off course how many would you like? Um can you just send the whole container full please.. Super video as always, cant wait to see this monster in the flesh.

Is it possible for model trains these days to run on overhead wires with low voltage? A mini pantograph could pick up the power and channel it down to the wheels.

It's clearly a spectacular achievement and a wonderfully-detailed and realistic representation, BUT I am so surprised at the amazingly rough track in so many places - fast trains look in severe danger of derailing as they bounce and weave around. Perhaps it is yet to be finished but the track looks like it has been completed. The violently-bouncing trains detract from what otherwise is a stunningly realistic-looking layout of mind-boggling size (it would be a large layout in 'N' gauge, but in 'O' it is staggering).

Sorry but I find this layout to be boring..No spurs, no industries, no (apparent) grades, no Ops., Long trains going along on mostly long tangents..What does exist IS done very well...But It's just too much of the same. I had to fast forward to be sure I wasn't jumpin the gun..But wasn't...The all gray backdrop is tedious as well... Sorry..I love trains...I'm just being honest in that there's too little diversion in the layout to hold my attention.

Model railways never get tracks right. Round these parts tracks are dirty grimy rusty brown oily. And not enough litter and rubbish dumped along the embankments. Anyone remember the Alton Towers train set in the old chapel. All that is left is a Hornby sticker on the entrance door. Long train set should show all four seasons..adds some variety of scenery.
