I always hear you say "thank you great spirit", and it reminded me when I use to find points, tools and pottery some fifty years ago. You pick up the item hold it in your hand and wonder when was the last time that someone held it in their hand? Love the videos sir, and can relate to your feelings.

When picking up any native artifact, I'm immediately drawn to many thoughts. The feeling never gets old. You either love it for the recovery or your heart is in it for something else. Thanks for the kind words and please stay safe and young at heart!

Just never what the next step we take is going to turn up. Seems like we can never see them all, regardless of how hard we hunt. Congratulations on the great finds!

It sure does make one questions how many times they've walked over one. I know I'm fairly decent at spotting a worked edge amongst other rocks but it also requires just the right lighting and shading to find arrowheads. Thanks for the comment and please return for my next video!

Tell me about it! I found three arrowheads when I walked up to the gravel bar the first time, didn't find anything else. Walked away came back several hours later and found three more on this very same rock bar. It's crazy how shadows and different angles of approach do wonders. The Dalton right by my backpack!!🤯

Congratulations my friend, great video, the diversity of the artifacts is awesome and I love crazy flint works of art. I would have to get my sifter and go to that place you found bunch and spend some time. It's easy to walk past one in shadows and angles change all day long. You definitely have an eye for them and definitely Blessed. Don't change. Good luck on your next adventure. looking forward to it. And God Bless

There are more days of walking with nothing to show for. But when a hard rain falls....it's a game changer! But there also has been times where it's rained inches, get to the creek, and find absolutely nothing!

Killer finds man. That one gravel bar did ya right. Happens every once in a while. I found 7 points on one bar before, it was probably a 20×20ft area. You just never know what's gonna turn up. Thanks for sharing and good luck out there.
@PtownRockhound2 жыл бұрын
It makes you second guess everything you did that day. I know I searched them gravel bars fairly well but I guess the sunlight being directly down. And the way I came at the Gravel Bar had a lot to do with it because when I came back the sun was lowered to the Horizon which cast more shadows and I could see the edges better it seemed like. End up finding six whole ones and a few broken ones on that one gravel bar. It was crazy. Thanks for watching friend
@jakematthewsmissouriarrowh37042 жыл бұрын
Lighting sure does make a differance when it comes to gravel bar hunting. I've always liked a good overcast day for gravel bar hunting, to keep the shadows at a bare minimum

I'll take whatever conditions I can get really, as long a I'm out looking I'm happy. It's kinda tough right now though because the flood we had covered everything in mud and we haven't had any rain lately to wash it off. I found that harahey though, so I can't really complain.

Nice finds brother! You are blessed at finding nice points! I rarely ever find whole pieces amongst the rocks! Usually always broken pieces down here in Texas. Maybe just my luck? 😆
@PtownRockhound2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your thoughts! If the creek your hunting has more gravel than sand or mud then the possibility of finding more broken ones is higher. I like a good mixture of sand and gravel.

How old do you think the ones you found are?
@PtownRockhound2 жыл бұрын
@@homesteadhunterdwd4652 artifacts can range from 8000 plus years ago to about 400 to 500 years ago. In this video, the last one is a Dalton for example. It's about 8000 years old. As to where the smaller brown point about half way in this video, is about a 1000 years old or newer.
