While I'm writing this, there's a video in my suggestions feed for "Easy Cream Puffs." HOW DO THEY KNOW??!! I never ever watch recipe videos either 😆 It's great that the ending made the whole book more satisfying for you! I was amazed by how all the plot threads were tied together at the end. Your reaction to the second flashback vs HC dispersing was similar to mine. I was horrified with the flashback, but I sobbed when HC dispersed. I've never sobbed while reading a book before. I like what you said about HC having been with XL during those hardest times. I will remember that when I re-read them! And it's a good point that HC's suffering then was just as hard. The dual screaming when each was in severe pain at different times is such a powerful parallel, of which there are many in the book. I hadn't even thought about the one you pointed out, of how the thing XL relied on in his lowest point was the thing that allowed him to succeed at his highest point. Another of my favorites is Xie Lian giving Jun Wu the bamboo hat. Since you're having a hard time with Little Mushroom, and you love manga, maybe you could try reading the excellent and beautiful manhua. It won an award for best new manhua of the year last year, very deservedly. It's on Mangadex and Bato. Little Mushroom is my second favorite danmei novel after TGCF.

Really like what you do (be it related to TGCF or otherwise) and all the passion you put behind it, so thanks so much for it! Really liked hearing your thoughts on the books and the discussions around it. Also, I have a lot of cool books added to my backlog now, so thanks for that too :)
