Kiruko is tackling self identity but most importantly grief. Neither Haru nor Kiri are dead because Kiruko exists. No matter whose body is whose or whose mind is whose, within Kiruko is the love of two siblings. A younger brother wanting to protect his sister, the body, and a big sister not wanting to let her brother go yet, the brain. Kiruko is truly interesting because as much Haru thinks that he is him, talks like him, it’s still her body, and as much Kiri looks like her, feels like her, it’s still his brain. A beautiful relationship like two siblings not wanting to let each other go. Haruki died in Kiriko’s arms to save her while she died to save his. It’s not a matter of who died first but a matter of “Who”. Who am I? Kiruko is a single person, and you can’t grieve for 2 people, it’s not a matter of choosing but a matter of being. There is no Kiriko, no Haruko, but Kiruko and they, well they are their own person, someone who’s lost both a brother and a sister.

Banger show and what's great about it too is that the English dub is actually caught up to the eng sub so both of them release simultaneously.
