I really like this tuning. That half step really makes it easier to go a thrash territory. Old school The Haunted really made this tuning special to me.

In 15 years of playing the first song I learned was Bulls on Parade, and every tab on earth said it was Standard E, now I question how much of Rage I’ve learned and if the tabs were wrong.

The way you transition from E to D# power chords, I never thought to do that. Always brought my index finger down to the 2nd fret on the A string. Your simple slide down looks so much easier and more economical.

it's like imagining there's another fret beyond the nut... this is the same way to look at CAGED system and how to understand inverted power chords are the same as a Barre chord to write riffs that sound like a 7 string low range but is on a 6

Well I have a 6 strings guitar with .10 strings and I have it tuned in B-F#-B-E-B-E (6th-4th strings in drop B and strings 1 and 2 in standard)

I have normal 10-46 strings and I can go down to Drop A# without an issue. Not much lower tho.

*SoFt RoCk* also if ur doing e standard here's a list: domination breakdown - pantera (technically a few cents down from e) 43% burnt - TDEP am i savage? - metallica (breakdown) cemetery gates - pantera (you know which one \m/) symphony of destruction - megadeth. (simple but heavy) walk - pantera blackened - metallica tell me some more :)

Must say, I play mostly in ‘standard D’ but my favorite tuning may be ‘Eb’ Standard... idk what it is but to me, it’s by far the heaviest and most evil sounding tuning. Maybe because it’s just a half step from E and retains its tension yet, that semi-tone down really takes the ear thru a journey spiraling thru an unsettling abyss idk

Maybe you should do some "heavy riffs in tunings that are somewhat flat" in the future, haha! Machinehead do for sure, I think they tend to play in Drop C and D Standard but again it's perhaps a quarter step flat so most people think it's in Drop B and C# Standard. These bands and their weird tunings...
