Nice explanation, thank you! I have a 26x and will do some practicing the next time I'm out. I'm sure my boat will behave a little differently but this give me a starting point and I'll figure out the best method from there.

Why do you have your jib sheets outside the shrouds? I always thought that was how to rig for a spinnaker or Genoa because they have a larger area that comes close to or pass the mast, but the Jibs are not that long and you could rig them inside the shrouds? Maybe I am wrong. Thanks ,

On my 26M, I had cabin top cleats and cleats on the rails on the gunnels. I only used the cabin top cleats when I was close hauled and ran the sheets inside the shrouds, otherwise I used the gunnel cleats and ran the sheets outside the shrouds to prevent chafe. If I was heaving to for any period of time I would either add some chafe gear or rerun the sheets inside the stays. Make sense?
