This heavy carbon buildup video shows the effect of an Italian tune up Before and After; fuel additive vs no additive, specifically using Liqui Moly. Italian tuning is vital for carbon removal from engine pistons as the wide open throttle driving adds the heat needed for additives to work at their best. If you're looking to remove carbon with no additives or considering how to remove carbon with no additives, this video may help as you decide. I believe fuel additives only speed up this process especially in the presence of heavy carbon buildup on pistons. You can watch the full Liqui Moly valve clean video here after I used it for a month • I tested Liqui Moly on... .

@cal87249 Italian tuneup means revving it like hell during driving to increase heat at piston and rings and valves so that carbon gunk vaporizes away.

I have a 2020 Toyota Camry 2.5 engine , mileage is no 64700 miles . For at least 4 months , I had been putting a bottle of Berryman B-12 Chemtool around once a week . It has definitely gained more power and at idle , it has gone down to less than 500 RPM . Acceleration has greatly increased and I expect any carbon has been lessened / removed . Only by using a boroscope can I see the amount , if any .

That will definitely make a difference! Thanks for watching and sharing.

Thanks. Waiting on your reline video. How do your pistons get carbon deposits so fast? Is that normal for all cars?

The fuel isn't the best, plus I have decent traffic along daily route.

Thanks for listening, can you test soaking with wd 40 the pistons before and after?

Good suggestion, though I'm, not sure I have the courage to do a piston soak with WD-40 just yet.

You are my new favorite when it comes to the 9th gen accords! You are doing some very experimental wild stuff that us DIYers wish somebody could do before us to hold our hands along the way lol I love your videos and I thank you for them! I’m really intrigued with these piston and valve cleaning videos. I’m curious to see if your future videos of piston cleaning with involve Chevron Complete Fuel System Cleaner? Also, does frequent use of these fuel system cleaners mess anything up? Chevron recommends at most 2 system cleaners in between oil changes. Curious to know if you’re changing your oil frequently after using these various fuel system cleaners? Also, I’d love to see more experiments like these but for the valve cleaning. That’s not as easily accessible, so to be able to see consistent experiments like these to see which product actually cleans the valves would be amazing! Thanks for what you do and I look forward to seeing more!

its just a phrase, italians make very fast cars that *usually* rev high. So the term basically means, in any car just floor it for a long time haha

Lol. It just means driving the car really hard. It's called Italian tuning because it was popularised by mechanics at Ferrari

I have used plenty of liqui moly products and I can not prove they are the best. But they are the most consistent! I did a test of their valve cleaner spray and did a video on it. This is the one with the 360 degree spray nosil and you spray into the intake manifold. Seemed to do a good job and the car seemed to run better. Would be interested to see what differences that would make on the intake side with the egr effect.

I have tested that same product! First video of 2024. Was using for the intake valves, it didn't do well at all. I have no doubts it cleans the throttle body though and the intake manifold. I'll check your video.

@@DIYAutoworksNG I must have missed that video! I will take a look. I am going to take it to a friends garage to try one of those de carboniser machines. He uses them on mx5 mk4 race cars as they are direct injection and prone to carbon build up.

@@DIYAutoworksNG sadly my borescope isn’t as good as yours so I may not be able to get any good evidence unlike your videos.
