I bought one of these beasts from GWT. My 1025r has zero problems managing it. Three point can lift it if you give it enough throttle. You have to consider your approach to larger bumps and steeper swales carefully, but on the flat it's just pure productivity enhancement. I have miles of nice grass trails I can do in one pass now. Rear discharge is new to me and I really love it. Been thinking of getting a Ferarri decal to put on the top ha ha.

nice video! doesn't look difficult to install. Looks very heavy duty! Really like how they ran those grease lines! I have a Farm King 6' Finish Mower and set the depth spacers so that its about 4" cut. It matches my John Deere D130 riding lawn mower which I do the outline stuff with. Would love to have that 8' Del Morino Finish Mower! Would cut down my mowing time significantly for my 7 acres, but for whatever reason my Boomer 40 will get hot in a short period with the AC on and pulling my 6' finish mower. It's fine without the AC, but I'm all the time having to turn the AC on/off which becomes a pain mowing 7 acres and defeats the purpose of having a cab.

I have been interested in getting a finish mower. I have wondered though if it is something that I could use on land that I only cut two or three times a year. Wondering if it would leave a nice cut at least better than a brush hog on 16 to 20-in tall grass.
@Jasonrcsd2 жыл бұрын
My personal experience says you will be fine. I have 5 acres that was probably 24-36" tall. Had no idea how my 6' finish mower would work. If I could I would keep my 5 acre lot next to my 2 acre house lot looking like a golf course, so a nice cut / finish is important to me. I watched a lot of videos, read forum comments etc and they all said a brush hog would be better. So glad I got the finish mower. After i mowed our lot, I got several requests to mow other peoples 2 acre lots with tall grass. If I were to do it over and was looking for a finish mower, I'd get the biggest I could find and would work behind my tractor. If you have the tractor, I'd get one of GWT's 8' Finish Mowers. Cut down the time a lot.
@kdegraa2 жыл бұрын
@@bruce2900 we’ve taken the baffling off our finish mower when mowing tall grass. The grass will not be as finely cut but the deck does not get constantly jammed with cut grass resulting in smoking belts. I’d recommend raising the deck when cutting really tall grass so the cut grass falls down below the spinning blades. If a better cut is needed then do another cut at a lower height.
@starconqueror2 жыл бұрын
I don't think you would be happy with a finish mower. My brother took my king Kutter out in tall grass and first thing he did was fry the belt. You might look at some videos on flail mowers, they seem to leave a more manicured look and handle taller grass much better plus their drive line (belts) are much tougher.
@kdegraa2 жыл бұрын
@@starconqueror we are happy with it. We have an orchard where the trees drop nuts on the ground that are then picked up. The grass needs to be mowed for the harvester to collect the nuts. A flail mower would crush the nuts with its hammers. A finish mower can mow the grass above the nuts. No tool is perfect and we will get a flail mower one day as its needed to crush the left over nuts and stuff after harvesting has finished. In regards to belts frying, we removed the covers of the belts the belts can be seen along with the pulleys. Since we've done this and also removing baffles and guards, its been cutting long grass, like six foot high grass, without breaking or smoking a belt.

Even if the 1025R could lift it I wouldn't use it. That's a big mower on the back of a small tractor and the front end is going to get light and make turning more difficult. My 6' LandPride finish mower is a bit much for my 1025R at times.

Do you think a 72” would be too big for my 4010 compact. It’s 14 pto hp. I will be using it to mow my one acre lawn. Grass never gets too long. Thank you.
@bortonfamilyfarms60942 жыл бұрын
I’m not a expert but that sounds a bit mismatched. I have 22 PTO hp and run a 60”. I still bog it down in tall grass. But one important note is your mower should be wider than your tires. So if you have a 66” tire width then get the 72” you are just gonna have to mow slow
@GoodWorksTractors2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, you'd be good. I wouldn't go super fast with it.

@flash12592 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's just me but, that setup seems pretty big for a one acre lawn. I've got a 3901 Kubota and a Rhino TM84 but, I wouldn't use it on my 2 1/2 acre front yard. I do use my 61" Bad Boy Outlaw XP though. It could be that your yard is enough different from mine to make a difference. I've got 14 fruit trees and a whole bunch of other things to mow around.

I had a lawn service but got out of it after last year. I did keep one zero turn. But I wanted something as a back up in case the zero turn goes down. My yards is flat other than my sand mound. I mow it very often. Was thinking of. 60”. But I see a lot of 72” models for sale. I’m sure that tractor will run it. I do have a 3520 Deere I could also use it on. Ok guys. Thanks for the info.

@@bortonfamilyfarms6094 I'm shocked 66" isn't a standard for all the 25HP machines! I'm thinking of just going 72" even if it takes two passes, you are covering a lot of ground. I bought same brand a few years ago. Did nice till I was backing under a tree and somehow it managed to jam some grass between the blade tip and back flashing jamming the blades and burning a flat spot in the belts. Poor setup for changing the belts, very difficult with the gearbox mounting. At least with king kutter you pull a couple bolts and the hole assembly tips up to get the belt in. I got the belts which was another ordeal but they've never been put on, it's been in the shed ever since. I have a couple deere's that mow much better.
@kdegraa2 жыл бұрын
This year we bought a similar mower made by another Italian brand, Muratori. It’s belt adjustment or replacement system is pretty good. Loosen four bolts holding the gearbox and centre pulley in place, loosen the adjustment bolt, let the centre pulley go forward. Then take the belts off. There is easy access at the top of the deck and good visibility. Belts are easily bought for my deck too. A local auto shop sells them.
