@@c1heavyhaultrucking one suggestion / a thought. . Put some kind of protection over the storage places for your chains so the rain/snow or any kind of moisture can't get to them. I've never driven trucks over the roads but in farming we had to be careful about wet conditions . Once we almost had a combine slide off the trailer because of the wet deck and the slight slope it was on ..

looks like you need to get some sandpaper and sand that rust down to bare metal, prime then paint it to make sure it lasts a long time
