I just found your channel & Sub'ed it. I was a Truck Driver for over 44 year's and I mostly hauled "Over Sized Loads" and A Lot of "Heavy Haul Loads" I mean BIG Load's on the Heavy Haul stuff 13 -14 axles and some times more. I had an 3 Jeep and a 4 axle Jeep too. 4 axle trailer with 2 different Stinger's 2 axle and a 4 axle. All this was on a 60 ton trailer. I also Never had any kind of accident. Ever. Anyway I think you told the newcomers right on how to start out by learning a little at a time.

Hope you're doing well. The double drop rates here at Landstar don't seem to be doing quite so well right now. My 53' flat is staying loaded with good freight. I always remember you saying that agents loved hearing you had 53' feet of space. You weren't kidding! #fansinceflatbed

Thanks for this video! I'm not a driver, but think it's a very interesting profession, with a lot of freedom! I like that you can chart your own direction also with some experience and forward thinking.

Hey Sergei. Really happy you got busy again. Are you putting a chip in your Mazda for more horsepower? We could get you up to 300 HP. What about tinting your windows so you don't have to worry about people looking at you when you do these informative videos. Love your videos.

The best way to get your rpms right is digital TAC meter and look at the recommended running rpm in the manual if you want better fuel economy

Train horns would be nice on your truck and most guys mount them behind the cab as you mentioned.

Train horns usually under the cab on the passenger side you can on the drive side seeing as your truck has the emission stuff on the pass side. As for exhaust the emissions box deadens the sound quite a bit you may get more flow fixing but the sound may not get louder. The axle ratio swap is worth it the drive line see's less stress the engine isn't working as hard. Ya Rotella T6 is expensive the price seems to be close to the same in stores that carry it I've looked in Walmart Canadian Tire and my local parts store its 47 dollars for a gallon jug. I'm trying a Canadian made oil 5w-40 synthetic company is called Klondike it is 190 dollars for a 18 litre pail.

Nice video Sergei. On your last step deck, 3 axle one, is there a way or need to get a sliding axle? What's your thought on trailer manufacturers? Whom would you pick to buy step from. Also, how difficult was it to find a heavy haul carrier to lease onto? Is there many carriers you applied with before getting on with your current company? Any suggestions on how to pick the right carrier, or what to look for when searching for carrier? Have you ever thought trying car hauler since you did a tow truck before? Thank you. I spent some time at TA in Baltimore just one day before you got there with those RUSH RUSH rubber rolls.

+Yuriy Korolchuk You don't need a slider on a 3 axle trailer. But if I was buying it again, I'd make the spacing 5 feet instead of 6, and get air lifts on both rear axles. In my experience, Wilson was the best for regular trailers, Transcript was great for heavy trailer (high beam rating). Transcript's quality was inferior to Wilson's but their trailers are the cheapest!

If* your having emissions issues (As I hear with many new trucks) you could do an emissions delete. That would improve the truck's performance...
@ponycar24fan
@ponycar24fan 8 жыл бұрын
It is possible! Guys in Alberta are deleting them like crazy cause they can't afford to have their stuff in the shop half the time. Guys in the US are also bypassing it. You can't catch someone outright unless you know what your looking for and have special software. I'm positive someone in California is running a rig with a delete. If Sergei reads this I would recommend if he doesn't want to do a delete to read up on the forums from guys that use the MP8 and see at what mileage the emissions stuff fails. He could prevent future headache for himself by replacing the hardware. Cause its most often not if it fails its when...

? 150,000 KM = 93,205 miles. So your oil changes are 93,000 miles apart?
@HHTV60
@HHTV60 8 жыл бұрын
+Douglas Newman I do PM in accordance with Mack's recommendations for heavy haul operation: every 25,000 miles or 40,000 KM. for me it's easier to keep track of things in KM: I do oil change every 40K KM, and I do grease every 20K KM.

Hi Sergei, My philosophy is that oil is cheaper than an engine overhaul. I change oil every 10,000 miles in my cat engines. Every 5,000 in my dump truck. Not criticizing you at all just tell you what I do. Jerry
