I only pack two wedges , always use one so the wind doesn’t pinch my saw . The second one seldom gets used . If I need to stack them I cut a wooden wedge . My old Dads trick . He used steel wedges back in the day they were less than 3/4 of a inch . He started with a axe crosscut saw and a horse 👍🇨🇦

Really well thought out and put together video my friend. So many good truths in there. I usually roll with 4 wedges but I’ve been known to use more😁. Back cut first and stacking wedge is what it’s about some days. I always head out with at least one short hi rise wedge for just that reason. Shallow depth with a lot of lift. And yes, it’s always good practice to drive 2 wedges. I hope you and the ladies have a wonderful week! Excellent job!

I always try and carry at least 4 wedges on myself, I have had to triple stack one just one time but I had seven wedges in it. I have a weaver pouch coming in the mail so I dont have to carry them in my pockets. Tazman thanks for showing us these tough ones, these are good lessons for the less experienced fallers, not that I am a great one myself. Or are you referring to how the saw sat and vibrated it's way towards the face cut. It happens and yes it could grab the saw and take it. At that point my main concern is not my saw it is overhead hazards on this dead tree. Thank you for your concern. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓

Awesome video as always. What are the 2 white balls on the trunk above where you are cutting. I see those a lot when I am out in the woods cutting and have never been able to figure out if they are a fungus or maybe the tree putting out sap to cover and insect bite or just what they are. Keep up the good work. Wish I still had your energy at my age.
