For whom the bell tolls was the first song my band learned in high school... Good times!

Hell yeah dude- we would rock that one in my early bands as well. There's nothing like that feeling when everyone nails it! "Take a look to the sky just before you die... It's the last time you will!"🤘

You’re a natural teacher! I’ll never forget the feeling of playing along to For Whom the Bell Tolls in time for the first time. Thought I was a metal god 😂

What a fantastic video, even though these things are known to most intermediate guitarists it was super awesome to see you break it down for anyone to understand, from power chords to even tablature for anyone just getting started. For someone of your level and ability to teach this to new beginners is A+++

The first song i ever learned start to finish was Davidian! Not a bad start 😉 i think the most underrated Metallica song ever is trapped under ice! Buddy, can you do a video on your favourite Pantera, Machine head, Sepultura riffs?

Rob you’re doing yourself a disservice. If someone is learning Drop C I recommend the following Year of the Snake The Flame Down Again

Don’t wanna be a dick but I feel like I need to mention that “Smoke on the Water” riff must be played differently. Not as power chords, but in forths. Here’s the video of Ritchie explaining it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXTShISemM11pNksi=tQ-6LHyCk3J3Q__M from 0:53. Also there is a video of Steve Morse explaining the right way to play it too. I’m sure you’re aware of this, sir, but still this stuff needs to be clarified. Yea, maybe for beginners it’s easy to play as power chords but still the young generation needs to know how the master Ritchie composed it.

I appreciate your input! For what it's worth, I teach (and play) riffs how I hear them. They might not always be exactly how the artist originally composed them. Also yes, this video is aimed towards guitarists whom are just starting out on their playing journey. And often times, I find it best to present things in a way that's most easily digestible and attainable. If you think back to when you first started, just outlining a riff or melody, and hearing it actually come to life from your own hands, was incredibly exciting, and that alone can be what pushes you forward and keeps you motivated on your journey. 🎸

Smoke on the water is not played with power chords. Its played with double stops.

Inaccurate. Tony iommi only hits every 2nd note and just slides to the next note

Not trying to be a douchebag with my last statement, but this coming from somebody who's been playing for 42 years , and I don't claim to be a professional or even a good guitar player myself.

I know you're trying to simplify these for beginning to intermediate guitarists, but you're playing them wrong brother LOL
