I know you said you disliked Spectra’s journalism from g1 but I think a way to incorporate it in an interesting way is that her obsession with wanting to find out the truth and get to the bottom of things stems from her inability to remember how exactly she died. Her hair and headband also kind of make me think of the Middle Ages while her outfit makes me think of the 90s which makes me think of the idea that while ghosts can indeed change their clothing like others can, but maintain some bits of the clothing they died in

I myself have autism and one of my special interests is mythical creatures. It’s the reason why I became drawn to and later obsessed Monster High when it first came out in 2010 (og fan whoo!). When I first found out about there being a canonically autistic character (who’s voiced by a autistic va) in g3, I was so unbelievably excited! There’s something poetic about seeing someone like me being represented in something I got into because of my autism

I really like the idea of Twyla having really large eyes and I like the sweater. Also, I loved my sister the vampire! I used to like looking at all the cover art too, and I would redraw them and tried drawing them in all the outfits they had/were described in. I still have the books somewhere.

Judging by all the chains I think she was chained and drowned and keeping the witch theory maybe she died around the Salem time and people thought she was a witch hence being chained and drowned lol my favorite of the two idk who and same for you redesigns lol I’m not the biggest fan not bc it’s bad just not my style which is ok lol but I’m super excited to see the other monsters even if they aren’t my style lol

If you ever do more Monster High redesigns, I’d love to see you tackle Kuma and Iris. For Kuma, although I love his personality and the fact that he’s based on a semi-obscure yokai, the Onikuma (or ogre bear), I find his name and design to be super lazy. I wish they had given him a proper name that wasn’t just part of his species’s name. I also wish he was given a more humanoid form (it just feels weird that he’s pretty much just walking around on all fours and completely naked while other characters based on non-humanoid monsters were given a humanoid form/clothes). As for Iris, I don’t mind the skater girl-esqe outfit they gave her, but the end result is honestly pretty mid. She’s one of those characters whose concept art was fair superior to the end result we actually got. There’s this one particular concept art of her that combines Greek fashion with Boho that I absolutely adore and I wish that we had actually got

ooo I would love to do Kuma he's one of my favorite gen3 characters! I agree about his name, but I guess now that I think about it almost everybody's name is just whatever kind of monster they are 😭 but it is crazy they just had that boy be NAKED. As for Iris I don't really know why they styled her like that but I bet she would be SO fun to draw too!

I was working at Target when g1 came out, I remember being sooo jealous of the parents buying their kids the dolls 😂I really love your redesigns, I feel like g3 got a lot more hate than it deserved on initial release, and it's so cool to see a blend between the two

Fun Fact: in the G3 cartoon Monsters are born monsters, according to Shea Fontana. evidently to Draculaura's mom being a vampire, pictures of Cleo and Nefera being younger as mummies, even spectra talking about her ghoulma,

Our experiences with Spectra are so different, I love it xD For me, I always found the idea of ghosts soo scary and I never cared for Monster High, I knew it existed but I never watched it. Until I saw a picture or commercial of Spectra. I can't explain why, but I loved her cute look and the fact that her doll was see-through. So I only watched the episodes with her in it and nothing more. But now being older and way beyond my hyper fixation on that one monster high character, I much prefer your redesign, younger me would have loved it!

Hello there Teddy and Fellow Ghost Probably Community Members. I do apologize for the tardiness of my comment, but when this new video was posted I was busy at work. However, I did manage to save it to my watch later list and I am definitely glad that I did. I really enjoyed the video and thought that the redesign of these two Monster High Characters and the lore/artist notes was really entertaining and creative, as well as very informational. To be honest, I really don't know much about the Monster High series, except for the fact that it is a Mattle Doll series that deals with the classic literature monsters that we know and enjoy, but I really never saw an episode of the Monster High series. Anyways, thank you so much for this wonderful and enjoyable video. I am really looking forward to seeing more of your hypothetical rewrite videos of Winx Club, as well as this great new series. i love them both so much god damn. i also took a while to watch the new serires but have been pleasantly surprized, also clankie is my top ship holy gaucumaoly how did that happen. im still alittle salty howleen and clawdeen arnt sisters anymore and the howleen/twyla friendship( they where def gfs) dosnt egsist anymore, but i adore twyals curent charecter (as an autistic person myself) i was so happy when they did it and did it right. it makes me so happy when more people see autisic people on screen, it serously heals my inner child

I've been enjoying fan redesigns of Monster High for ages now, and I love you're taking a stab at 'em. I'm a fan of the G1 show and know a little about G3 (idk G2 lol). I don't have a strong opinion on these two, but overall these are such solid designs. They'd look so cool in webcomics/comics, though the details would be hell to redraw. Your Spectra has such a cool vibe with vintage references, and your Twyla is cute. I did think "comfy" and "PJ" before you talked about your fashion choices for Twyla, so your design intent is coming through. Anyway, I love fan redesigns coz they're not restricted in what to sell as products, so fans can get so creative. Also shoutout to G3 for some of its rep.

All we really know about Spectre from G1 is that she says that she was royalty and of high status back when she was alive I think she was like probably alive in any time period where there were still a queen and king around but this could probably just be a lie that is she made up for clicks

Ironically i actually hate spectras new design-it feels like they just slapped a body suit + mesh pieve on her n spamed the chain pattern all over her n it feels so lazy-i like her earings & shoes but thats it Her hair bugs me too-she looks like shes balding in alot of shots I liked how they didnt use the chains so mych on her og design-that & how worn out she looks w her skirt That n her hair didnt make her look balding Not to mention her og face…i LOVE how sculpted her og face looks n yet now her face doesnt look any different from the other ghouls, its round & soft
