Great! I live about 40 miles north of London and the Lancaster and Spitfires came over my village about 15 - 20 mins after the flypast on Friday. They were still in formation and I unashamedly stood in the road and waved!

@@kodi1969 Thankyou, very much appreciated! Love watching aircraft, always awe inspiring, even if I don’t know enough to identify more than a few. My father in law flew se5 and other biplanes 1918 from HMS Argus, taking off from platform over guns. Astonishing to think about in these days.

@@nestahale8510 no problem, spent many an hour in the back of C130's, beautiful beasts, remember once we took some US air force bods for a spin around some fjords in Norway, the pilot and copilot decided they were going to show the 'yanks' how the RAF flew... Those boys bobbed and weaved up that fjord, high bank turns they made that herc literally dance, put a smile on the crews faces and impressed the hell out of the Americans. It will be a sad day when it is retired from the fleet.😭 Seen pics of SE5's mounted above the guns, from ww1, brave pilots , I believe they had to ditch them after the sortie and they were retrieved with s no crane so they could be remounted .

Note to anyone deploying in Fat Albert or an A400, buy a hammock or if there's a soft-top Defender grab it when you can. Otherwise it's still the most comfortable ride you'll have above ground even if the bog's a bit poor.

To think we bought 66 Hercules in 1966, eventually replaced by the characterless “J’, and the remaining fleet to be retired next year whilst the aircraft is still in production! God forbid we ever need to move a large body of troops into a hot LZ in the future, breaks my heart 😢

That's sad.... but i bet you would have liked to see that fly over....... plus i hope you won't mind me saying, that your user name reminds me of The Lord Of The Rings book...... i just wish i knew where my dad hid that book, because i have not read it for years...... i mean, every time i found that book in the past, my dad would always hide it in a different place and when i would ask him for the book after all my exams were done, he would say that he doesn't remember where he kept it and when i would look for something else, i'd end up finding it again and that's how i have never finished reading that darn book.....because i always ended up reading just the first few chapters and then the book would vanish...... now i am reading Eragon, Eldest and Inheritance (from the Eragon series)...... but i wish i could get my hands on The Lord of The Rings book again But anyway books aside, i think that i agree with @CobraEmergency...... you should try and see the fly by when you are free some time....... :-) Anyway, i hope that you have an amazing day today and everyday...... stay safe, protected and blessed always......

1917, the name of the british Royal Ancestral House was changed from the German Saxe-Coburg to C--p Windsor, brit prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group,I.E German. Then they went on to destroy Saxony ,this was England's ultimate desecration on ancestry and Ancestor worship , so why the Queen celebrates this is awful and heinous, the british do not know of identity. Sacredness of Ancestor worship Rites of ancestor worship include personal devotions, domestic rites, the ancestral rites of a kinship group such as a lineage,, and annual rites for collectivity of ancestors. So as a Germanic i wish be less like the brit, and have a kinship group such as a lineage, and identity with Germany. Also to prevent Discrimination

they only changed their name to Windsor as your Kaiser our Kings first cousin both grandsons of Albert Saxe-Coburg and the Austrian Hungarian Empire caused WW1 and they lost you should have kept the Kaiser after the war and calmed down his and your ambitions, but then you had Adolf a truly nut case so you lost again, Just like Russia got rid of their Tzar in 1918 that was a total murder of the royal family , then they ended up with Stalin and now that idiot Putin so both Germany and Russia have lost out to Britain you have no one to look up to and celebrate and no Royal Family

In Britain anyone who studies history knows that the Angles and Saxons were Germanic. The Vikings and subsequently the Normans were Nordic which is also Germanic. Thus, apart from the Celtic nations of the UK and newer arrivals, most of us are part of the Germanic race. However, changing the name of the royal family to an Old English name of Windsor(river bank with a winch), lnking it to the family castle of Windsor was necessary since the British were fighting the Germans and anything German was unpopular. An ordinary British person has not the slightest idea he or she is in any way part of a long ago Germanic diaspora. As to destroying Saxony in the shape of Dresden(rebuilt since the war) I believe that a certain Fuhrer may be held responsible for being the cause of that rather than the RF.
