This scene is done so badly. As a parent I felt the panic, but it was ruined by the very casual sing song "Jason" calls, and just the unrealistic situation. 1) kid runs off and is obviously a notorious runner. So dad allows kid to run off again, whilst fumbling for 2 freaking dollars of all things (clearly more important)! 2) mother doesn't bother to alert security that in reality would lock down/ get security on all exits. 3) he's 10. My 4 year old knows not to run into a road. Not to run off. Unless he's special needs, he should have been made at least 4 years younger for it to be believable. 4) the dad doesn't even run. He could have caught him on the top floor.
