Another amazing video man, especially with your super busy month. Back in 1975....yup...I was at a friends who had an older brother and I was looking through his collection. I was drawn the the King Crimson by the cover and a 'wtf is this?' My friends bro was passing through the room and he said 'oh thats crap, I hate it, somebody gave it me.Take it if you want it'. I did and was blown away by it. As I became a seasoned collector and started to learn my stuff mostly via a magazine called Record Collector (how do they think em up!) which is still going....here in the UK. I realised I had the pink Island first press! It is vg +++ and have owned in 48 years!

Great finds... Recently the best for me has to be a spotless, near mint condition All Things Must Pass IK 1970 box set, complete with perfect inners, poster and white cardboard filler, NM records.. an absolute gem of a find. As well as a great condition Japanese +OBI issue of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath!

Dillon, I too have been searching for a pink Island Court Of The Crimson King forever and a day. As for now I have settled for a German white palm tree label with pink rim. Yours looks mint, just wondering how it sounds. Totally cool.

I have that Pop Masina (Pop Machine) album as well. It's one of the first rock albums from the former Yugoslavia, and it was recorded in poor conditions. Music that had "sketchy" motives and messages were either priced over the moon or the band was dropped, or sometimes, the police got involved. Pop Masina was no stranger to that. The record label they recorded it on specialized in mostly pop, and schlager music, while their rival, Jugoton, had already released a few rock albums, so they were willing to dip their toes in to try to get more of a younger audience. So they gave Pop Masina a chance and gave them minimal condition to record. The paper cover was flimsy, the front cover picture was not to the bands liking (they wanted a more psychedelic vibe a la Cream, King Crimson, Hendrix etc. but got a standard picture of the trio), and the label gave them a day to record and mix the album in one of their worser studio (keep in mind, that label was the second biggest at the time in Yugoslavia, they just didn't want no hippies and rockers getting bigger treatment then their pop stars). Nobody paid attention to them or the album while recording, so they made a psych album never heard of at the time (or after), and an album that was highly in tune to what the world was listening at the time. The label started pressing them, unware that the album contained "mind corrupting" music, until one of the kids of the label head honchos played the album to their parent and explained the title (Kiselina = slang for a tab of acid). Immediately they stopped the press, making only 500-1000 copies, with very few in good condition remaining today, and dropped the band. I got my copy for 5 bucks from a friend (the cover is good, but the record has some crackle to it), and I spin it from time to time. Such a good album, but it's weird seeing an album from my part of the globe on your channel lol
@Muzzerie Жыл бұрын
also, the band is pronounced Pop Ma-Sheen-a, but you was really close. Kiselina was perfectly said lol

Pop Mašina, from Belgrade, Serbia yeah !!! Kiselina means acid, but pepole at record company PGP RTB didn't know back in 1973, first edition sold fast maybe 3000 copies, or less. Original was pressed on poor quality vinyl, becouse of that reissuie from 2022 on Croatia records /former Jugoton/ sounds much better. So glad that you got that record. Cheers from Serbia!!!

Hi Dillon, do you know what album from the 1970’s has a photo of the mural “Isle of California” on it. (I think it was on the back.) I can’t find the answer anywhere. If anyone would know, it would be you. Thank you for your consideration. -r-

You should enjoy it while your son is young, i quite miss that hands on Dad thing, my boy is 24, hes not living with me at the moment, so i do muss him a bit.I love king Crimson they got me into prog, i really want a NZ copy of that first LP, as im also a big vertigo swirl collector, i found out that kiwi copy was on vertigo a few years back and wanted one ever since, however i dont think the early Kiwi vertigos have the big swirl on one side, i had a kiwi Jade warrior album and it had black and white labels with snnall swirl logos and the track listing on each side.
