I should have looked more thoroughly that all the brake lines were melted before messing around trying to run air. Thought I would get lucky and just cage one of the. And pinch off the lines to the bad one. Towards the end I explain why this was a difficult and not ideal tow having to sling tow a fully loaded reefer

I just love it how cars will not move to the left lane even with something sitting on the shoulder. What a bunch of aholes.

Awesome. It would be nice if some people would follow the rules of slow down move over in any state. The dangers for people working on the side of the road are just immeasurable. Glad you're still there! Keep it safe Kris!!

Great video, 1st time to see you at work, gaging all the trailer brakes, I've done 1/2 of an axel, not all 4. Not fun... Stay safe!!! 😊

I have a doubles dolly I got off line for peanuts JUST for this kinds of situation . Run to the yard get the dolly put it under the trailer and use my pintil hook attachment for my dtu and then I can pull that trailer no problem. Just don't aske me to back up far. You can also use that dolly when a rear axel set is ripped out. Put dolly under king pin and chain it to the trailer so it doesn't pivot. Then lift the back of the trailer with a chain sling and tow it backwards with dolly holding the weight. You can also plumb a air line to the abs valve on the trailer to release brakes. It goes from that valve to the brake lines Follow the brake lines and all 4 will meet at that small black box with only one green plastic air line going in and 4 thick rubber brake lines going to cans.

Surprised that there's not a pigtail/ light hookup on the rear of the wrecker as opposed to using the light bar for situations such as this. And , some sort of temporary 5th wheel jig as opposed to relying on 2 chains to the 5th wheel plate.
@krisstafford74
@krisstafford74 15 күн бұрын
@@cliffhaskett7703 there is but the wiring was all melted.. and it does have a 5th wheel adapter but that is only 25k pound capacity and you have to have a lot more reach out to get to the kingpin and it makes a way bigger lever

If it isn’t sketchy it isn’t fun. Like towing a fire engine with that way setback front axle with a 25 ton wrecker. Good job nonetheless. ✌️

Kris-I miss the colors from the trucks from your previous employer. They made the trucks pop. Now the truck is just white. People remember the trucks when they stand out. Nothing against you, but your boss should recognize that.
