I think the marble game had another hint to Old Man being the mastermind that most people miss. The rules only said to "won your opponents 10 marbles" not to actually have all 20. 001 gives an entire speech before this about how Gganbu share everything, including marbles. Could he have been giving a hint that it was possible for everyone to live if they just swapped bags with their partner? This would have allowed everyone to "win" their partner's 10 marbles. Likewise, no guard ever shot anyone until after the winner turned in the bag of 20. It may be possible that they were told to wait until it would be impossible for the player to win their opponents 10.

Considering none of the guards cared when people abandoned the needle to start licking during during Honeycomb round and tricking your opponent into just handing the bag over worked for Sung-woo, it seems that anything that doesn't go directly against the stated rules or involves outside advantages is fair game. Going by your logic, no one wins at all because once you've won they are no longer "your opponent's marbles" so no one will ever have their opponent's 10.

Nah, he made the right choice to not get on the flight. He wants to end the games cause he understands how immoral they are as well as how much they destroy people and turn them into the worst version of themselves, like with his old school friend and how he felt after he himself won. Not that I'm completely against him seeing his daughter. I also felt bad about him abandoning the trip, but with context of what he went through, its a noble sacrifice.

I had the same feelings after reflecting on that scene. I don't know if I was in the minority in having the same thoughts on the ending. I was so impressed by the character development of the show not just for Gi-Hun but the other characters as well. I would like to think possibly in season 2 or after that he would still be able to connect with his daughter after he finds a way to shutdown the game once and for all.

Same. Gi Hun may be selfless but he is a good person. The front man was probably as confused and desperate as Gi Hun was at the start. But then he did his choice and corrupted himself, he even go as far as shooting his brother, without knowing if he could or couldn't live after that. He turned into a psycopath, cause' only someone like that could be part of them after watching so many people die.

I'm mad that Sang Woo went through so many theatrics to trick Ali. He literally took the shirt off his damn back to give to Ali to show how trustful he was. Even I desperate to trust him. be real, would you want gihun at his most depressed and alcoholic state to be taking care of a child? When he couldn't even do the same for his own child before the games? He needed to get his shit together first or else he'd make the brothers life even worse. At least in the children's home he's guaranteed to have a roof over his head and his necessities taken care of. Gihun didn't even touch the money and was still asking people for barely enough to scrape by, and I sincerely doubt he would want to use the cash that he won from Saebyeok dying. There is nothing wrong with the fact he left him with Sangwoo's mom. It's just part of the culture for a lot of asian families, if you can't reasonably take care of a kid, you find someone who can. Usually a more distant relative or a family friend. He knew she'd do a better job.

Characters foreshadowed their deaths too. Ali stole money, Sang-Woo stole his marbles. The “tough guy” jumped into the water, and the woman killed him by falling through glass. Sae-byeok stabbed someone with a knife, and Sang-Woo slit her throat. Sang-Woo laid down in his tub very tired & fell asleep, Sang-Woo killed himself. The colors of the notes they pick is a symbol too. If they pick blue, they are players (turquoise jackets). If they pick red, they become a guard

i disagree with everyone saying the players had a choice and almost blaming them for going back to the game. it defeats the purpose and meaning this series is wanting to expose. this series is an allegory for modern day capitalism. to show poverty and income inequality faced in S.Korea. the people behind the game are only targeting vulnerable and desperate POOR people for reason. thats because they KNOW the players wont and cant refuse. The illusion of a choice in a survival situation is not free will.
