More people should watch your videos, I admire your knowledge, the detailed study in your explanations is appreciated... wow! You show a very different perspective from the way we men learn. I am a gentile trying to follow that knowledge, I study weekly parasha, I do the prayers during the day, I study mizvot, I read book recommendations from Rav Shimshom Lowenstein of the Jeshiva Beit El of Jerusalem, I am studying "kabbalah" and TORAH with its different books according to tradition. But there is always a door with a different light... many should listen to you.

Shavouah Tov. I was listening to this class and about astrology, I think I missed some parts due to my non understanding of all the Spanish. What do you mean by “I’m aquarius but my moon is in cancer” ? I don’t calculate things in astrology, but it’s interesting to know I believe. Thank you. Gracias por sus respuestas
@emunahashem5 ай бұрын
Hi! So my birthday sign is Libra. Meaning my sun is in Libra. My ascendant as well is in Libra. But the positioning of the moon at the time I was born was in the astrological sign of cancer. Now, the astrological sign of your name is something totally different. I get to it according to a method shown in Sefer yetzira. So the astrology of my full name is Aquarius. It’s a blurry line when it comes to astrology. We accept as a truth but we can’t allow ourselves to be limited by it. Ofc we can’t go to any astrologer or be told our future. But I believe using it as a tool, through understanding ourselves better is ok.

@emunahashem Hi Liel, I left you a comment about astrology as well. Although it is accepted as true, it and other practices related to occultic wisdom seem clearly prohibited by God in His Word (I cited several verses in my comment), and I've not found anything telling us TO do it. I was very interested in astrology and have looked into my own chart extensively, but since returning to God I've not been able to reconcile astrology and divination with His commands. I wondered if you had any thoughts or insights. Thank you, I enjoy listening to your classes.

My Gregorian birthday I’m a Taurus. My Hebrew birthday, I’m an Aries. What do I do with this?
@emunahashem5 ай бұрын
Well, I personally only look towards the Hebrew birthday. As the Gregorian calendar is based on jesus and I don’t believe in that. The Hebrew calendar is objective, based on the moon and sun. So to me you would be an Aries. But where all your other planets fall play a big role in who you are as well.
@JohnColeSitar5 ай бұрын
@@emunahashem The Gregorian Calendar has nothing to do with Jesus. It was just a modification to the Julian Calendar (established in 45 BCE, long before Jesus) to correct for the date drift caused by the imprecision that it contained - as it used a solar year length of 365.25 days instead of the more precise 365.2422 days. On the surface it doesn't seem that big of a deal, and for short time periods it gets the job done. But after 1500 years it had already caused a 10 day drift; hence Pope Gregory instituting the modification.

A person's sun sign (what most people are referring to when giving their "sign") is based upon what tropical sign of the Zodiac the sun is in at their time of birth. This has nothing to do with a Jewish or non-Jewish calendar, but rather an astronomical reality of the sun's location.
@JohnColeSitar5 ай бұрын
Since the Gregorian calendar is purely solar, the date ranges for each tropical sign doesn't change from year to year - making it easy for an average person to know. While with a person's lunar sign or ascendant sign (which is actually more important in a chart) a person needs to know astronomy, maths, and have an ephemeris to figure out (before computers made these accessible to those without such knowledge). This is why newspaper/magazine horoscopes have only dealt with sun signs.
@JohnColeSitar5 ай бұрын
However, with the Jewish calendar being luni-solar, the month-Zodiac correspondences to the Hebrew calendar are in reality just rough estimates. Basically sometime during the month of Nissan the sun will be in Aries, sometime during the month of Tishre the sun will be in Libra, etc.

Shalom. Is it only through kabbalah that Jews engage with astrology? And does that carry to divination too? I was studying astrology and recently gave it up based on some verses from the Tanakh: Deuteronomy 18:10-14 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this 2 Kings 21:6 He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced divination, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger. Isaiah 47:13-14 You are wearied with your many counsels; let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon you. Behold, they are like stubble; the fire consumes them; they cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. No coal for warming oneself is this, no fire to sit before. Jeremiah 10:2 Thus says the Lord: “Learn not the way of the nations, nor be dismayed at the signs of the heavens because the nations are dismayed at them. Leviticus 19:26 You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes/observe times. You shall not act on the basis of omens or lucky hours. As we know, God provided regulations, and some things are forbidden for our good. In Genesis, He forbids man from eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But she is tempted by wisdom, wanting to know what God knows. Clearly some occultic knowledge is not for us to know or dabble in, right? The reason I ask about kabbalah is that I've come to question its origin and rely on Scripture as the word of God. I would love to hear your view. Thank you Liel, Shabbat shalom! 🙏🕊

The god of Exodus yahweh is satan who does not want you to have the knowlege. Who created the stars and the zodiac? God. To call astrology evil is to call creation and the Creator evil.

One issue you seem to be having is conflating astrology with divination. While one can use astrology for divination and even idolatry, that does not equate it to those actions. What astrology is, at it core, is developing correspondences between astronomical phenomenon with occurrences on earth. Some examples: When the sun rises you know it will get warmer. Is this divination? Of course not, but its astrology. When the moon is in a certain location you can know when the tide will rise or fall. Is this divination? Of course not, but its astrology. When the star Sirius would rise with the sun, the ancient Egyptians knew that the Nile river would start its annual flooding. Is this divination? Of course not, but its astrology.

It can be said that Judaism has historically had a love-hate relationship with astrology. You had figures, like Abraham ibn Ezra, who were very pro-astrology; and you had other figures, like Maimonides, who were very anti-astrology. Its kind of like Schrodinger's Cat... its both kosher and unkosher at the same time, and neither kosher nor unkosher at the same time. If you have the desire and interest, you can read the writings of the two above mentioned sages, and there are some academic works talking about this topic as well.

There is no month by that name in Hebrew time reckoning. The reason why you're not eternal is because you've adopted Babylonian time reckoning, which is Babylonian astrology, which is Babylonian idolatry. The price for that idolatry is the inability to become Immortal from correct Torah learning.

Hebrew? The Biblical calendar is the Babylonian calendar. Ya know, with months named after Babylonian deities like Tammuz (Jesus)
@JohnColeSitar5 ай бұрын
As are the English names of the week named after the Teutonic deities, like Thor and Woden. So what is your point? Also, Tammuz and Jesus are two distinct individuals, who do not share a common mythos.
