Personally I reckon the Amber Horseshoe Balloon was ranked far too high, here's why increased jump height and negating fall damage, the second hardmode is unlocked, you get any of the wings (lets be real it is the leaf wings) these two effects become obsolete, and the bee damage is poor, without the bee bell or whatever increases friendly bee damage the bees will deal piss poor damage barely able to kill a expert mode zombie, and even then not many bees are even released once damage is taken, if it wasn't damage to deal damage or just instead being radius to a hostile enemy to deal damage then it might've been alright, similar to the spore sac.

Thorium is like Terraria 2.0 because of how much stuff it brings and yet still give itself a vanilla feel because of the content always scaled to the level of Vanilla terraria until you get post moon lord.. Calamity is like a whole new game entirely because of how much it changes the mechanics of regular terraria..

I feel like the Magic Mirrors need to be in S tier, for the simple reason of complete necessity. While not everyone is going to try and accumulate all the items for a Cell Phone, nobody is going to ignore a magic mirror unless they already have one or are doing a playthrough without it. Addendum: Two things: 1. Sure recalls are faster, but if you're going to be collecting information accessories then you'd need a Magic mirror anyway to make the cell phone, so moot point. 2. If a 2 second time optimization is really that worth it in your eyes then you are a huge dork who should go study a pile of bricks.

Magic Mirror: S-Tier. For when you get it (early), what it does (TP home!), and how long it'll stay in your inventory (i.e until you turn it into the Cellphone), it can't be beat. Ice Mirror is a distant second.

I distinctly remember the first time I ever played Terraria. Here’s the thing with shadow armor; It’s crafted from the same materials that you need to craft the pickaxe which can mine hellstone. Meaning it is a melee set that’s quickly out-classed by the molten armor at the same stage you get it. Which is, to me, comparable to getting the lesser hardmode ore sets instead of just crafting the hardmode pickaxes until you get to titanium or adamantite. Meanwhile, crimson armor is basically the best set in pre-hardmode.

Hallowed armor is amazing, it's essentially awlays available when you're approaching plantera. I dont wanna waste my chlorophyte at the chloro armor/tools, because all post-plantera/golem chlorophyte based armor is much better

In defense of the ancient shadow armor, it lets you get the armor before the eater of worlds and possibly even before any boss. so while it's technically useless, it does have some advantages over regular shadow armor

1:48:43 Spore sac is actually wonderful if you're looking to get the fishing achievements late into a playthrough, since you can just pick it up without having to go through the hassle of putting together a summoner build if that wasn't already what you went with. I used to be a “Frost armor better than forbidden” typa guy, until I realized that summoner and mage have a lot more in common mechanically than warrior and ranger. Not only that, but I tend to just use summons as a backup damage source regardless of class choice, so having a boost to that while I focus on mage equipment is really good.

For a ranger, frost armour is a godsend, it has better damage buffs than titanium/adamantite and more defence than hallowed and frostburn exists I guess

Yes, any large building project (farms, cool builds, etc) practically requires the architect gizmo pack to be not terrible. Mainly for the increased buildspeed and reach. Also a note, when used with the builder potion and absolutely no movement buffs you can continuously build while moving left or right at your max speed (which is 15 mph at the start i believe)

Ancient shadow armour is one of my most used armours pre hardmode. Setting up a stone 'pyramid' with places to kill the eaters makes it easy to get really early in the game. It has been really useful for not dying a lot.

Not sure if you're aware of this, but when the world generates sky islands the first three islands from the left will have 1 of each treasure, meaning as long as your world has 3 islands you are guaranteed a horseshoe and a balloon. Because of this I commonly make the blue horseshoe balloon and keep it until I replace it with wings in hardmode.

gonna edit this as i go -actuation rod is GOD TIER for building. -i replace my shackle before my aglet lol -something you may not know is that the avenger emblem stacks with other emblems, this making it actually even more useful than you'd expect. -gold armor REALLY isnt that hard to get, since there are so many ways to get basic ores and since gold really isn't even that rare. -the thing about hallowed armor is that you are required to fight *three* different bosses that drop hallowed bars. you will get enough to make the armor, so you might as well. granted, i would prioritize excalibur if you are playing melee for the terra blade, but id still say there is a genuine reason to make hallowed armor.

Bunch of Balloons is obnoxious to farm for, but having had a world with three red balloons and all three clouds just kinda free for the taking, I can confirm that it is *very, very* nice to have. It is a comical amount of mobility that can even compete with early wings if paired with lightning boots.

There’s something I disagree with here. While the dash distance is greater with tabi, the biggest reason it’s objectively better is because the SoC stops it’s dash when you hit something. Which actually makes dashing with it slower accelerating than just walking normally in the instances in which it’s of detriment. Tabi users don’t have to worry about that.

Hec, you're wrong about the static hook. Once you get over the original unsual movement with it, it honestly becomes your only hook for the rest of the game post-wall. Just think of it as a cleaner, long range version of any multihook grappling hooks, but you don't need to try and keep hooking back and forth to get to the exact position you want. Also, as a side note, really helps make bigger homes past just boxes.

Frozen Turtle Shell and Cute Fishron mount have their uses in stand-still boss arenas, the Shell reinforcing the most overpowered and brajndead form of gameplay in Terraria, being melee armor builds, and Fishron reinforcing the most-DPS-for-least-input builds AKA star dragon, as well as water+honey arenas; in my opinion, these items deserve better spots. Celestial Stone is only marginally worse than Celestial Shell, and you can use them both if you need to - I don't really see why the tier difference is so huge. Hallowed Armor's main advantage is that you don't need to mine anything to get it, unlike literally every other hardmode pre-plantera armor that you've rated higher on the list. Chlor armor is almost 400 ore pieces, yikes. Many wings you've rated low (like Betsy) actually have a hover mode that increases horizontal speed, despite their speed bonus stat being lower than their counterparts. Hover mode isn't exactly good, but it counts for a lot when you don't use MNG or mounts.

I’m can relate to his little rant about the frozen wings. I would always get those right at the start of the game, then only upgrade to Fishron wings, then solar wings. I pretty much only ever used those three wings.
