Mines back in after little work , rattling like a bog of smarties , my hla 86 is also in but for the 5th time in a year , 3 motors, adjuster cable and broken bearing housing now , I'm trying to make a living with these machines and have invested a thousand pounds in batteries as I cut a lot of hedges , chainsaw I have seems good , strimmer is weak and drains batteries, I'm not impressed

Do you find that it does not cut at the tip ? Which I find really annoying !!! Andrew

I have the same problem i took it back to the dealer i thought there was a tooth missing it seems to snag at the tip.

I will have to have a look at ours. It's not a problem we have noticed.

Yep you’re right. Bit of a flaw. I’ve taken off the tip protector for that reason.

I find the guard at the tip grabs branches and is annoying 😮

Mine has just jammed cutting a box hedge. Never had that happen before, it seems the thin twigs are enough to get between the teeth and jam it. Nothing in the manual about how to clear this.

That happens with all of our hedge cutters from time to time and they can get started again. I turn off, take the battery out and use a flat head screwdriver to lever the cutters apart where the jam is and clear the sticks.

Tape the safety handle off near the blade to reduce pressure required to keep the machine under operation and reduce cut out, spray with Knauf resin stop to keep blades cutting well and reduce power consumption and coat with wd40, remove annoying tip protector and blade guards as they aren't needed for a professional anyway. The tip protector is pretty much unnessecary anyway due to not needing to cut that close to the ground most of the time and the blades don't protrude exactly to the end of the blade guide.

@@doomedbook1020 yes we tape up the handle and tip guard is nothing but annoying, WD 40 is a waste of time as it's only a doesn't lubricate , GT85 is the spray to use , much better 👍👍, I'm not very impressed with the machine overall to be honest,slow , weak and mine was in for repair after very little work and is rattling again now and the gearbox gets very hot 🤬

What do you spray to keep the blades in better condition
@gorillagroundsandgardens4 ай бұрын
We use resin remover. Stihl make their own. Other than that letting them dry out and lubricating them before they go away helps too.
