THE BRAND NEW STIHL HSA 100 HEDGETRIMMER/HEDGER
This summer I was fortunate enough to get an early look at the HSA 100 hedge trimmer. The hedge trimmer will be for sale through your local dealer in 2023.
I hope you enjoy this first look at this new Hedge trimmer from STIHL.

Very Professional content and one can see that you love what you do. I like the part from 4.30, you move along the hedge like one of those KUKA production robots. 😂 And great trimmer anyway, the moveable handle made my decision for this one instead of the hsa66. After watching your previous video advertising the HSA 94 R I ordered one, £430 Must have been a year ago! Yesterday it eventually arrived I was so happy 😊 I've found using it with the umbilical cord a bit of a nightmare especially using it with my henchman ladders. Yesterday you put a new hedge trimmer on your channel 🤣🤣🤣 and now I wish I'd waited for that one. Probably will be another year before that one arrives 🙄😡

By way of consolation (!), I'm sure you've not wasted your money, despite the slightly irritating cable. I've felt the quality of the HSA 94 and that machine is definitely built to last and deal with tougher stuff than this new 100 model. Some reviews have said the 94 is the best hedge trimmer ever built...period. But then it all depends on personal requirements. This one is basically an improved replacement to the HSA 86 (that I've almost worn out despite fussy maintenance). The 86 is rather plasticky and designed for lighter jobs, but it's been a great, handy machine & no doubt this 100 will be much better, but it'll still be aimed at a similar work-level.

So Is it single speed? Does it have a variable speed trigger? 3,000 strokes per minute seems on the low side but I'm guessing with the wide blade gap and high torque motor it's probably geared more towards the thick stuff? Seemed to cut the Buxus nice mind 👍🏻

Nice attention to detail with the box hedge - kudos. But all you showed was fine finishing work - no cutting deep into a neglected hedge. If the machhine's constantly reversing because it's not up to cutting the material between the jaws, then it maybe won't damage the motor...good!...but it won't get the work done either....bad! @@TheFullyChargedGardener They are good against walls ect where you can't get a hla6x, some shaping of trick maniquered foliage, or one your knees to cut back something really thick and stubborn to ground level. All of which I have managed with a HLA. For long knee height hedges it's all about speed and fatigue. I don't think this would be quicker. Not for a beginner who's not strong and has to bend. I mean personally I could probably do it just as good if I got my hands on this vs the HLAs. All day would be hard. Maybe I'll buy one (the short one I've got isn't very good and not stihl but i dont really use it) and test the difference. I suspect it would be night and day.

The new ECHO dhc 2800r / 2200r battery hedge trimmer is a better machine than this. Not cheap, but it feels more solid & less “plasticky” than the STIHL. And the ECHO’s twisty handle system is also far better. Why STIHL didn’t make a more professional-grade tool with a similar handle to their (petrol) HS 82 model seems strange. I realise they have their own “pro” battery machines, but they have a slightly annoying cable connection. The new ECHO is impressive.
