💥HEEL & VEEL💥how to say MANY and A LOT in DUTCH (NT2 - A1)

🎥What's difference in Dutch between 'heel' en 'veel'? Many of my students are mixing these two words, so I decided to make a video about the difference. The video is in Dutch but has English and Dutch subtitles.

🤗Hi Dutchies to be! Welcome to my channel and great that you're interested in my videos! My name is Kim Jautze and I have been a Dutch teacher since January 2017. I've studied Dutch linguistics and literature and did a PhD in computational Dutch linguistics.
🎬This video is part of a series of short videos that address all kinds of difficulties students experience whilst learning Dutch. These include grammatical subjects, the meaning of words, how to use certain verbs, sentences and expressions, and improving listening skills.
🇳🇱Being a Dutch language teacher (NT2/Dutch as a second language) has taught me that learning Dutch can often be extremely difficult! And that you cannot learn everything from books, but that short visual explanations can be more helpful. That's why I make these videos. I've chosen to make 90% of my videos in Dutch, because I think it's important that you, as students, hear the language that you aim to learn! I do always provide Dutch and English subtitles, so the videos are accessible to (almost) everyone. If you want to contribute with subtitles in YOUR language, please feel free to do so!

ik heb nederlands 1.1 en 1.2 geleerd op school, maar jij hebt het veel beter dan wat ik op school heb geleerd. dit is de manier van studeren die ik niet van de school heb gekregen en deze manier is die ik graag leer. hartelijk bedankt, lerares. nu begrijp ik beter.

Can you explain the difference between Heel and Erg?

Yes, when they're in front of an adjective or adverbium they mean the same: very. In this case 'erg' is an adverbium. But 'erg' can also be an adjective and it's placed in a construction such as: "dat/het/iets is erg" and then it means 'that/it/something is bad'
