Marvel forgot that Falcon isn't a super soldier. While Falcon was an amazing pilot, he did not have super durability like Steve and Bucky... Also, compare: "You've got to do better senator!", vs "I know I'm asking a lot. But the price of freedom is high. It always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not." ... One is the definitition of a selfless leader, the other was a line written by a Karen.

@ I’m currently rewatching the MCU and the first bit of “the message” shows up at Civil War. They have a little scene going on about Peggy doing what men said women can’t do. Not a huge deal a little bit of an eye roll but as the movies went on you can see them pushing it more and more until it’s unbearable. The MCU is the same place as Star Wars. Loss of identity.

1:49:13 My 6 year old has been a huge Star Wars fan since he saw ANH at 4. He builds, draws and invents new (letter)-Wings, learns moral lessons by calling them dark or light sided, hums the soundtracks while playing and we are reading the Thrawn trilogy graphic novel which he got for Christmas at bedtime. I've withheld all Disney Wars from him, except Rogue One (he's probably ready for Andor soon) but after hearing about the first 3 episodes or so, I decided to show it to him. He loves it, though misses some of the clunkiness of character actions and motivations. In a cave full of murder traps, I wouldn't assume activating a pit trap to escape merely being detained is a viable option, but it works out, so he gives it a pass. I'd press the point harder, but he gets so little new Star Wars material to enjoy that I can't bear to ruin his enjoyment. That said, he still rates Episodes 4, 6 and Rogue One over it. (5 and 3 are lowest. He hates bad guys winning) And as for the health of the brand? He loves it, but his friends know almost nothing of it. He'll want to play Jedi, but they're playing Spider/Ironman. They'll let him be a jedi in their story cos they're nice friends, but largely have to have it explained what's happening when he starts swinging a stick, making lightsaber noises. Even if his passion remains, Star Wars dies with his generation.

Neil Gaiman is fantastic at blending mythology into urban fantasy. I like his books a lot, but I love his short stories. “Murder Mysteries” and “The Goldfish Pool and Other Stories” are stories that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. However, in some ways he was ground zero for the woke shit in modern stories

Growing up, I loved the 90s super hero cartoons. The only physical comic books I ever had access to were the facsimile reprints of the original Lee/Ditko run of The Amazing Spider-Man the Orange County Register distributed with their Sunday paper, for a short time. After that, I only had digital or TPBs on Amazon. The idea of even just finding a store that sold individual comics was completely alien and ridiculous

I disagree. I don’t mind a silly movie once in a while but we need films that take themselves seriously with good plots. People in hindsight play off Die Hard, The Matrix, Men In Black and Star Wars as fluff but as crazy as they get and the fun banter. They are very serious and lead to a strong sense of accomplishment and world building that people can get invested for decades to come. Dumb for dumb sake is something that is metaphorical empty calories that will excite for a moment and be promptly forgotten.

Somebody, anybody with a microphone that catches him on a carpet or interview couch, please ask the difficult question, "It was an open secret, so, you knew? You knew and you worked on this anyway? How many other people knew? Was there an effort to protect him and therefore protect your show? Do you actually only care about fame, money, and your own success? Why aren't you boycotting the series? Why didn't you speak out a year ago. You're so willing to speak out when it's 'safe' to do so. I don't like Gaiman's writing (and as a woman who got into comics in the late 90s, trust me, I was recommended it incessantly). I also don't like it when women make mistakes and then blame other people for it (even if the other people are douches). Having said that, if all you've read is basically the equivalent of a headline, I don't think that we can judge either way, and there was, IMO, too much opining with not enough actual information. I also haven't read the allegations myself yet, and so haven't formed an opinion, but I have heard (maybe on G&G?) that there was a situation with a woman who lived on their property with her children, which may not have been wise, depending on what she knew when she moved in, but would not make a threat of being thrown out with the kids unless one agrees to do certain things any less coercive and nasty. If it's true, that's a bit beyond getting another babysitting job. I've also heard that some have claimed to have told him no, explicitly, and repeatedly, and that he did not/would not stop. Also, that some things happened while his child was in the room, which is a whole other kettle of nasty all on its own. Again, no first hand knowledge, just listening to a podcast in the background, may or may not be accurate, etc. I'm just saying, it seems there are allegations that, if true, may actually be serious, as opposed to the Warren Ellis ones, which, even if true, were nothing but whining about a guy not being as into you as you thought, or that poor guy who went on a date with a chick who didn't bother to tell him she wasn't into him and then complained that he didn't guess what was on her mind while she was sucking him off.

The first time that I heard about Neil Gaman was when Neverwhere came out (first as a mini-series, and then he adapted it as a novel), and I quite enjoyed it. I've also liked the few other books of his that I've read. But I've never seen anything from him that would make me think that he was the best author of all time - not even close - and I was surprised to see anyone claiming that he was. He's a good writer, but he's one of many, and his reputation certainly seems to be greater than his work would merit. I would recommend checking out Neverwhere though, since it's fun and unique.

I think you guys are dismissive of Gaiman’s works because you are focused on other forms of media other than novels. Obviously none of his works defend his actions if he did SA women. It’s also another example of the male feminist either turning out to be an abuser or getting burned by attracting a bunch of women happy to dogpile on false allegations and/or inflate their victimization in their own heads, especially after grandstanding about how problematic it was for people to dislike the Netflix Sandman adaptation. Regardless, Gaiman has been involved in all sorts of media but for me Neverwhere, American Gods, and Anansi Boys are his best works. I’m not much of a comic guy so I’ve never read Sandman but I can see it is a very popular comic. Stardust was OK but felt like just very standard uninspired fantasy. Coraline is a good kid’s book, InterWorld (with Michael Reeves) is a fun YA fiction. FWIW what I enjoyed in his writing beyond just the stories was his unique phrasing and observations.

Never been able to get through any Gaiman book. I find his writing style unbearable, personally. To me it reads like a Shining style page, only saying "look at my writing skillz" over and over. I don't dismiss his influence, but it is a matter of taste, and he is not to everyone's taste.

I still think you have to see the movie before judging it, not letting outside influence affect your opinion and at least try and go into some of these with an open mind, i finally got round to seeing the dial of destiny the other day , put it off because of everything i heard and didn't dislike it as much as i thought, thought it was better than 4

Sounds like Rippa would love to see better numbers but well within the margins of a small growing company that could become something great or continue to be a small product with small group of loyal fans.

Az you’re wrong about the actress for Sansa. It’s likely her husband Joe Jonas cheated and was trying to take custody of his kids from her by claiming she was an irresponsible mother because she partied from time to time.
@coreyleader620613 күн бұрын
No I'm pretty sure her partying was much worse than that.

I bet no one that watches Real BBC can describe the plot of any Rippaverse comic. The whole thing is a grift.

Isom is asked to go look for a friend of the family, he finds out that someone may very well be abusing her and he wants to help her get away in book one. A grift you say?

You guys should stop it with the captian African American thing. It's really not a good look it sounds like something a democrate in the 60s would say.

So they didn't correctly predict the last 20 flops, but now all of a sudden they actually think that a flop is going to be a flop???

Any examples? Pretty sure the marvels flopped

They did correctly predict the last 20 flops... Are you getting your financial breakdowns from Hollywood media and have you ever researched "Hollywood Accounting"? Cuz if it's yes to the former and no to the latter there's your problem right there. Here is a rule of thumb about Hollywood and the access media...if they need to tell you all the time that "ackchyually [insert video game/movie/tv show that flopped/bombed here] did really well!" ...well that means it did, in fact, not do very well at all (otherwise it'd be self-evident and they wouldn't have to try to convince everyone with bad and/or incomplete math and narrative framing).

@@pbradics3670 against the reported budget, not taking into account marketing, reshoots, etc. You have some amazing mental gymnastics going on. Is that why Disney is swimming in cash and public acclaim? The world agrees that every Marvel movie (not counting most Disney live action movie) since No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine has been an extreme flop. And they are correct in every way measurable. It's hilarious to see you pitching for sinking ship. What country do you live in?
@Cole99v13 күн бұрын
@@pbradics3670 I’m very confused. I was asking op what movies they failed to predict. So a few made money but most flopped. Not sure if you’re agreeing or dissenting but thanks for the numbers.

I love how all the "LAW AND ORDER!" Republicans have nothing to say about Israel protecting people who have aboosed American kids. You would think that such a great ally would hand over such 'people'...
