Thank you for a lovely reaction video. I’ve seen this performance 100s of times since the 90s, and still get chills every time. She’s an unbelievably talented singer and an amazing human being, and song writer. We should appreciate her while he have her! So many of the generation before her has passed on too early - MJ, Whitney, Prince, George Michael. Since you love choirs, I’d love it if you would react to Michael Jackson on the 1988 Grammy Awards. Another amazing performance. ❤️

6:42 yeah this is what I like the most with MIMI , the way she bombard the song with several high belt phrased not always a sustained vowel by delay or vibrato in the bridge of the song . And the golden thing is that she never lose musicality even if there's many high notes , it's all just decorate the song . And people say that she doesn't have breath control enough to support long high belt so her upper belt are weak , while phrasing high belt is way harder 😲😂 For MIMI every single sentence in her song are '' Chef-d'œuvre ''
@HegeOfficial Жыл бұрын
Truly!! It bothers me a little bit how people will always be impressed by a high sustained belted vowel, but not give credit to the absolute GYMNASTICS she's doing aside from those. Mariah is absolutely brilliant and impressive as heck!

Glad you understand “breathy headvoice” and “falsetto” are completely different. Falsetto is a weird feeling and register altogether and it’s different from Mariah going into her breathy head voice.

The comments about people trying to discourage Mariah reminded me of your "gender contamination" video, from 9 months ago (link below). From that perspective, many who criticize Mariah, inspite of her undeniable talent and success, do so because the empowerment Mariah and her fans share, makes those individuals insecure. See the video for Hege's performance as one of those individuals! "Your taste in music is giving pick-me" kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHeqoWigiaiSaKcsi=uasPObWep7e3EuCB

Funny how you mentioned unhealthy and healthy singing. Real lambs know that Mariah has done more unhealthy singing than healthy singing. She’s mad talented and knows exactly what she’s doing, and all her vocal decisions sounded amazing in the 90’s but as time went on she seemed to realize that what she was doing with her voice weren’t the best for it in the long run. Yeah yeah yeah, nodules nodules nodules, knowing she had nodules means she should’ve recorded all her songs in a lower key with less acrobatics. What if Mariah started her career with simple easy songs, setting herself up to be able to sing even better later on… just saying
@ilovetati91 Жыл бұрын
Mm, that's not quite true. Her decline was not due to unhealthy singing but an unhealthy lifestyle. High levels of stress, insufficient sleep, excessive promotion and TV performing, drinking. She did have incredibly demanding songs, but her technique was strong and lifestyle was a major agitator.
@devenstout Жыл бұрын
@@ilovetati91 she did things with her vice that sounded wonderful but wasn’t beneficial in the long run. She literally admitted to singing outside of her natural range and pushing her voice to hard, specifically during the daydream tour, her breathy singing, though beautiful, was immensely damaging to her vocal chords, maybe more so than her high belts. I agree with everything you said, and all that combined with her questionable technique eventually led to her voice issues. Every thing I said in the previous comment was true, I just left everything you said out. We’re both right. Mariah’s story is a sad one. It seemed like she’d have her vocal abilities forever. I’ll always bow down to the queen of vocals
