I begun skating with some realy cheepy skates thinking they were great .. until I realised they were outdoors skates. I had adapted so much to using outdoor skates indoors , people where honestly surprised… two and a half months later I am here I just bout my first pair of three wheel inline skates and haven’t used them yet .. going to the rink today to try them out!! I’m waiting for the day you update your skates! Love watching your progress but it pains me to see you being held back by cheap skates that don’t even fit properly. I’m always so worried you’ll hurt your ankle in those 😖 fully laced they are so roomy on your ankles. I don’t even think those have metal/aluminum/nylon plates/trucks? I could be wrong but a lot of the low end skates don’t and it’s honestly really dangerous. definitely NOT skate park skates. 100% dangerous for the skate park. Please be careful, I’m not trying to be judgy or anything I just feel like one of the reasons it’s taking so long for you to improve is because of the bad skates and not so much you. Anyway, I love your videos, no matter what be safe and keep up the hard work.

Protective gear makes your fall a bit easier to cope with. Butt pads, knee pads, wrist pads, helmet... the whole works. When you fall you, they help especially that butt pad lol I was so self conscious about it now no one can tell me anything ..... I hurt myself the first time I tried roller skating.... and out of commission for two weeks. Now I know the true value of the butt pad. And makes my practices sessions a bit more enjoyable because I am not dealing with the fear of falling.

I love these videos as a beginner! I picked up some tips and it's just fun to watch others learn as well 😌 what I do recommend is bending your knees more and refrain from leaning your upper body too forward, it's something I did waaay too much which really messed up how I Landed if I was going to jump and also from what I learned, semi squatting is kinda like the roller skating stance. It's something that takes time to get used too but overall learning how to skate is a really fun hobby ☺have fun!

Heyoo! I've been skating for a year and a half and you've made more progress than I have ahahahha. Your beginning skating was better than mine so don't worry about looking like a fool, I was so much more stiff than you. A tip for skating backwards is really bend your knees more! Also I always trip or lose my balance while skating so don't worry about that, just be a little more of when you're flexing your muscles because I notice that I tend to lose balance or trip whenever I relax muscles. Roller skating is one of those things where you need to keep some muscles constantly flexing, even if they're not 100% flexing.

So nobody should call you out on your skating ability, everyone progresses at different paces, some can take to it very naturally while others can really struggle with balance, and that’s going to slow progress down a lot. One thing I will say though is, the skates can really make or break you, if you don’t have a pair of skates that suits you and your natural style of skating, that’s really going to hinder your abilities as well, big chunky skates I find make putting one foot in front of the other extremely difficult as opposed to a smaller boot, most women won’t have this problem since they tend to use the style your using, when I got my bauers it was like an awakening.
@lia56382 жыл бұрын

I commend you on your journey and being courageous in this recreation. It is definitely fun and exciting, and it can be a mystery on how it all comes together. Mostly skating are a few coordinated move sets, some traditional ballroom - foxtrot, ballet, waltz, tango, quickstep, etc as the skate is designed to form-fit a dancer. At any rate. I am happy you took this forward to be as candid and to show others your ability or inability in some areas, as we are not perfect, but to adapt and to be more relaxed is the key to roller skating, that's how I started at least, some from visual in rinks and just getting the gumption to go!
