Heidecke Lake Evening Fishing

Join us as we head out to Heidecke lake for a little afternoon/evening fishing in late May. Despite battling some significant algae, we got 10 fish in the boat, catching a total of 5 different species including a 14.5" black crappie. Although we had a few "keepers", tonight was just about catch and release fishing and some quality father/son time.

Nice video! Going out there tomorrow for the first time this year! They have a verity of fish which is nice. I've caught a lot of walleyes out there mainly trolling. Nice to see you and dad enjoying time together!! Thanks for the video!

Great video, but did you notice that you were the only boat at the ramp. The rules state that you must be out of the park by sunset. Years prior, they locked the road way at the stop sign. A ticket was given for being on the wrong side of the chain. You my friend, are going to ruin it for the rest of us by staying late to catch the evening bite.

@@MrJp318 there were more boats on the water, but yes that is typically the rule. Bob fishes the lake quite often and is familiar with the rules and the DNR officers who come around. We were all good. Thanks for the feedback!

Going to heidecke for my second time in a few days, first time no luck. Any advice for what works good? 2 hour drive for me and want to be prepared lol Hoping to get some of the monster striped bass out there

Right now is a good time to pull some swim baits behind the boat or to drift fish with some golden roaches. I will say though, Heidecke is a bit slower at the moment and you might have better luck with some evening fishing. Good luck!

Hello Mike. We have not been to Fox River and are unfortunately unaware about land access there. As for Heidecke, there’s great shore fishing and plenty of land access.
