Very interesting, I have heard a different way of using stochastic and RSI indicators. when they reach their extremes of above 80 or below 20 that that can be used to demonstrate a lot of pressure in that direction. Looking at the example of that big up trend, every time the stochastic was above 80 that could’ve been another opportunity to buy and not use it as a sell indicator.

In theory that sounds good but then it gets destroyed in ranges so either this needs a way to stay out of trending trades or a method to only take oversold buys when the main trend is up and only take overbought sells when the main trend is down. Filters are certainly needed

adding a trend indicator can help like 50ema or maybe Bollinger bands,take trades only on favor of trend, simple

Thanks for testing this. Also I've heard that heiken ashi candles opens at the middle of the previous candle (not sure but when you look that them it seems like it opens there. Also do you think this strategy will do better with a better risk to reward ratio or a trailing stop? I actually think it will, and its better to use in the London and NY sessions (I've heard). No problem its always interesting to try things out. I'm sure it can be improved through both the take profit method and a ton of the losses can be avoided by not taking trades in strong trends

@@tradepro True and also the ATR can be used for a tighter stop loss and maybe another indicator to identify the trend or something. I was looking at a video earlier about a slow moving and a fast moving stochastic one to identify the entry and the other the trend and possible exits. I'll take a look again. Thank you

Hi, in trading view there is an indicator of heiken ashi and it colors your candles like heiken ashi, so we can know where to open and close the price, at the same time it is very good to trade with ATR stop, RR 1: 1.5 and an EMA 200 for trend, or for trend very good ichimoku only cloud on big time frame (MTF) SORY for MY Enghlish ;) Take care and beautiful trades.

So just take longs in an uptrend and shorts in a downtrend

It failed because basically the strategy was based on Oversold/Overbought premise regardless if the bar is Heiken Ashi or the traditional Japanese candlesticks. Therefore the system is not robust enough.

Interesting video but clearly it didn't sound good to begin with. Like you shown in the vid, during big trends the rsi is gonna go above/below ob/os level but that's clearly not signals you wanna take. I guess a simple 200ema would help filter most of those out Also for this test you need to see the actual candle behind the heiken ashi cos I think in the first setups you've shown it would probably have hit sl actually.. I dunno if trading view allow showing both candles, Mt4/5 actually do so maybe for next Heiken ashi testing videos! Also yeah since it's a range strat it might be better to take trades with like adx below 25 only (not sure if rsi will give many signals while adx below 25 tho need to check) Good video though

Oh yes this was very clearly not going to do well which is why I was laughing before testing it when I said I already have an opinion on the strategy. To think the person who made that video has a paid group is so sad and shows the problem with the trading industry

the solution for this is when trend is bull you only take buy signal & when trend is baresh you take only sell trade from stochestic indicater

It needs 13 ema S/R LINE. OR 200 & 20 SMA.

i think this could be a good strat even in a trend,you have too filter out the buys in a down trend and the sells in a up trend ,then you will be fine, i will try a 200 EMA, only long above 200 EMA , only short below the 200 EMA.. this strat put up a a really good win rate, i think with some toying around with it could work..Anyone have any ideas or ran a test with good numbers please message me and let me know please ....THANKS

You need stochastic confluence on the 1 hr and 15mins and 5 mins.That's how you filter out consolidation and trading against the trend. I use this startegy and it works..

@@autocity101 I start with 15 min, I lo0k for stochastic crossing, Psar flipping and a flat red or green heikin ashi candle then move to the other time frames to look for confluence.
