Really appreciate your work. 🙏 If you are interested in sustainable fabrics you will be blown away by the process behind dope dying. It's not just a more sustainable dying process it's actually not dyed at all! The colorant is added before the yarn is extruded - so the yarn is made completely in a specific color right from the start. That means there is basically no color fading through abrasion, UV radiation or washing. Plus, you save loads of resources since dying is the most polluting process in fabric production. I’ve found that the straps kind of bunch up over time at the attachment ring points. Other than that it’s very well made and I really like the inner pouch and zip pocket configuration.

I owned a “keep pursuing” sling pack which is very similar to this. Great pack for mobile everyday use too and extremely comfortable and balanced. However Some of the pockets in the kp seemed redundant and I never used all of the compartments for example the small padded tech compartment (too small for a normal tablet, ended up keeping my phone in front pocket for faster access.The heimplanet seems a little more straightforward (taking a less is more approach) thanks for the review!

So I have a bit of a confession to make. I know I originally poo pooped this pouch due to it’s hipster price point (though I did actually like the product) and said that I would rather buy a lovely steak. Well as much as I like steak, I watched this video a couple more times, looked at my old pouch and decided I must have the Heimplanet Transit Line Sling Pocket for myself and have it now. The manufacturers site states that this item will not be in-stock until nearly July (that’s not great management btw), so off to Google I went. I was directed to a shop in Finland, I emailed them immediately to confirm they had stock, they replied instantly stating that they had one piece remaining (the site now marks as out of stock) and less than 48 hours and several cargo flights later I have it in my hands. You are right, it’s great! However, I do feel the same about the logo.

As a larger gentleman I find slings don’t really suit me. The tend to accentuate the stomach area. :) I prefer a god satchel. But I would still watch more sling reviews. I find them to be an interesting category of bag. especially if you’re trying to minimise your carry or get things out of your pockets.

Satchel/shoulder bag/vertical carry messenger bag/musette or whatever you want to call it - it was a "Former Action Guy" bag in my old perilous profession - seems a lot more versatile, and comfortable. That is what I have used for decades, looong before the urban "murse" became popular in America. Can't really put much more in these "slings" (which are of course just fanny packs carried hipster-style) than one can carry in pockets. Unless I guess one wears those tight-legged hipster skinny jeans with pockets just for looks. But what experienced traveler would do that? I wear my phone in a neck pouch, under or over my shirt as appropriate to the situation. It is always instantly available and less likely to be stolen. My wallet goes in pants pockets, either front or rear depending on the theft threat. Keys in the front pocket. A 9x12x3" satchel can carry much more than a "sling", including a compact rain jacket or sweater ("layer"), maps (yeah they still make those), paperwork, buff or bandana, book, hand sanitizer, water, food, clipboard, electronic tablet, flashlight, hat, multitool, napkins, sunscreen, shopping bag etc. Of course one does not HAVE to fill it up...use packing discipline or suffer the consequences. And it's just about as handy as a "sling". Hangs unobtrusively by the side rather than sticking out of the torso like a malignant growth. It's easier to swing to the front or rear as needed than a "sling" too. Granted, in a full-out sprint a "sling" may be more stable, that is an advantage. But the satchel is just far more useful and if properly sized and packed actually rides closer to the body than an overstuffed "sling" IMO.

@@PackHacker That's awesome. I've been looking at the Nutsac Man-Bag, Dammit. The only thing I worry about with all of these is vulnerability to theft. But I think that being able to put an s-biner through the zip-pull and attaching it to either another zip-pull or a loop on the bag would somewhat mitigate that risk.

I own the new 20L peak everyday Zip. I want sling to fit inside when I need to leave the bag and go smaller. I am torn b/t this sling and the aer day sling 2 mainly because the aer sling is 2 inches longer. The peak internal/horizontal dimension offers about 9-10 in. Hey nirewzeigger - we tested this out and while the Switch does just about fit in the Heimplanet Transit Line Sling, it's a pretty tight squeeze and getting the zippers around the corners isn't easy, but it does fit. On the other hand, if you remove the controllers from either side, it fits in much more comfortably. 😊 - Rebecca

@@PackHacker ish? I might for travel but certainly not for just wearing around town. My buddies would absolutely frag me, lol. This might work in a big city but not where I live in the Midwest. I will admit I do own and use a fanny pack, but it's very low profile. You can't see it on me. And I only use it for my phone while rucking and hiking. Works perfectly for me.

one biggest downside - you can not unbuckle the strap. you can just tighten it or loosen. but say you're in airport line and need to quickly take it off your waist - nuh, can not do it- you have to drop everything and use BOTH HANDS to loosen the strap and take it off... kinda bummer

I like this sling, but not with that logo on the front. I always believe, if I pay for it, get rid of logo as I am paid to advertise it. And this one looks really cheap.

Hi, yeah true and different strokes. Haven't found the perfect thing necessarily for the new Cotopaxi Allpa. But trying out the Patagonia lightweight travel tote. Can be worn as backpack or shoulder bag. Has water bottle pockets. May work for next trip with many day hikes. Going to try on some day hikes, excursions and check out. Would love to see a review.

What's up with this overpriced hipster nonsense? Walmart sells something similar for 25 bucks as well as Amazon. I can go down town here in Dubai (man-purses are insanely popular here for some reason) and buy a "like" pouch for less than the equivalent of 10-15 USD all day long, same goes for SE Asia. Sure it might only last half as long but these hipster-startups in the US and EU have too much overhead and try to go hardcore on quality, resulting in the price point being at something of a "high-fashion" item. "Here is an organic single pocket wallet for $98.00, comes with free fedora." Ridiculous.

@@PackHacker Only the latest in 2019 spring fashion, oh yes, a lovely Ozark Trail (Wal-Mart) hiking fanny pack. Paid about $17.00 bucks or so around 1.5-2 years ago. I'm not cool enough to wear it as an EDC item (maybe when I get a bit older) however I do wear it at work (flying helicopters, as it comes in super handy) and sometimes as a seat hanger when utilizing commercial air travel. I have several pouches, some from work, some from little cheapo shops around the globe. Don't get me wrong, I like the pouch featured in this video. I just don't need it, not at that price at least. I'd rather spend 50 USD on a steak and just rock ma fresh Wal-Mart special. (Btw, I even liked the video yesterday.)

@@PackHacker There's nothing wrong with the bags themselves, they are fanny packs, strapping it across your chest or back doesn't make it any less a fanny pack, other than making it less comfortable and more ridiculous looking. I was out a few months ago and this kid was wearing one of these things across his chest and I walked by and told him "nice fanny pack", and he turned red in the face, it was priceless. People feel like they need to project this aura of masculinity, so they can't use these bags as intended, as fanny packs, so they have to invent different ways to carry them which is honestly sad. On a side note, even though I love my Peak Sling, I just got a Peak 20L backpack a few days ago, the tradeoff in space wasn't worth it and the 20L is still small and nice, I can actually buy something when I am out and put it in the back, plus strap my jacket to it also if I get hot.

10 L seems more of a normal size for a sling, and would be worth your while to carry. Could almost carry the stuff he has in there in my pockets.
