It really seems like ComStar is using the Clan to destroy it's enemies.
@drakron2 ай бұрын
No, ComStar doesnt have enemies because last time pre-Clan Invasion someone made a enemy out of them ... just ask the Free Worlds League how that turned out for them. The goal of ComStar was basically grind down the Great Houses until they collapsed and then ComStar would come up as the saviors of humanity, if the robes arent already a indication, they are very much religious fanatics and that will eventually play out with the Word of Blake, right now they are complying with the Clans because they seemingly have the same goal since nobody told then yet about Earth.

Would have been nice if they had put actual Elementals into the game and see them running through the battlefield. Like they did in MW3.

hmmm interesting episode. When you lose, nuke everything. The Child Tantrum tactic

Keyboard controls are way easier - with your target reticle over the repair bay just select the star member (F4 for Liam for example) and then F6 to use the repair bay. Way quicker than fucking around with that circular bullshit menu.

I actually liked this mission. I thought all the com traffic made the mission feel dynamic, like you were in the midst of a rapidly evolving situation, not a fully scripted mission.

This is my very first Mechwarrior game and my introduction to Battletech general. The first arc had me la bit bored with its pirate plot line, when I reached this mission, not gonna lie I was very immersed with everything going on and was even shocked to see Edo completely nuked from orbit just like that.

The chatter is like a worse version of Ace combat chatter
I don't know, we haven't met a Mihaly Dumitru Margareta Corneliu Leopold Blanca Karol Aeon Ignatius Raphael Maria Niketas A. Mechjockey yet, so they've still got some work to do.

HUD is such a cluttered mess. Everything is in your face. Also cocpit themselves have so many pointless elements that obscure the view.

You need to learn to utilise mech formations too mate, should cut down on them getting in your wy so much

I must've missed the part where Comstar allows the clans to have Warships but not the Inner Sphere. What did the clans do to change their minds?
@Executioner90002 ай бұрын
They had them at all. By this time IS warships had been destroyed hundreds of years ago. There simply weren't any. The clans kept the remains of the SLDF fleets in service, and comstar had nothing to do with it.
@brooksriley96592 ай бұрын
I don’t know if the Inner Sphere had no warships at this point just insignificantly few warships. While I can’t quote the lore it seems unreasonable to believe the great houses and ComStar’s wouldn’t at least have a handful a piece. With the exception of maybe (after several attempts at spelling I’m just going with space Viking great house) and the capellans. Hell at the start of the first succession war the Taurians could still manufacture warships that capability is undoubtedly gone by now. But i would be surprised if the entirety of the inner sphere ComStar especially couldn’t muster at least a few warships

@brooksriley9659 between combat, the destruction of dockyards, destruction of supply chains, and even sabotage by Comstar, there were no active warships in the IS by the time of the Clan invasion. It was one of the shocking parts of the clan armadas.

The Innersphere didn't know about the clans existed at all for centuries, as the old SLDF forces, who later morphed into the clans, decided to leave after the collapse of the star league went beyond known space at the time. they simply kept building warships out in the deep periphery as they didn't lose the technology to make compact KF-drives. comstar's exploration branch eventually found the Smoke Jaguar homeworld, and the clans used that as justification to finally return to the innersphere, but by that point, no new warships had been made for centuries, due to lacking said compact KF-drive technology, so what could they do?

Comstar didn't get a say in the matter!

Not BS but having a lance under maximum drop tonnage with pilots lacking in evasion skill and no armor reduction reserch. Not a criticism not really. This game has rather big spike in difficulty in terms a mechs you face and types of maps you get dropped on. Next planet is mostly mountains with you boxed in by mission restriction birder forcing you to fight in IS wepon range majority of the time. And you face increasing number of assault mechs in close range plus their support.

I have both armor research and evasion skills unlocked though not all the way to max. Also you forgot I'm playing on the top difficulty as well. :) See the problem with chasing maximum drop tonnage I have found is that you are almost always using 1 mech that has little to no XP for unlocks so it's very stock, while the mad dogs where under tonnage they are almost fully upgraded in terms of chassis upgrades. So the question is really do you want 10 more tons in the form of a bog stock mech with limited bonuses and customization options? or 10 less with a mech at or near it's maximum possible performance? Your going to see me making this choice in favor of the lighter drop weight again and again in this playthrough.
