Thanks so much!! I’ve been searching for an option to provide my family with clean water and this is brilliant!

Just curious have you had the water tested? If so could you share the results? I’ve been hearing more about pollution and spraying etc, just wondering if the sand will filter those contaminates or if additional filtration will be needed?

Thank you so much, your videos are golden. I'm looking forward to implementing this once I save $11,000 grand + $45 for the plans! I'm just wondering what type of pressure tank is used? Or, if this information is in the plans, how much roughly did the pressure tank cost? Just so I can budget occordingly. Many thanks.
@HeirloomBuilders2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Generally the biggest tank you can afford. The tank will cost ~$800. Pump is another $1000. I have a list of all this with a breakdown of costs I can send when you order plans.

Very clever setup. You're brilliant. I wish I was young and starting out so that I could do something like this. Thank you for explaining. It's fantastic. I have well water, and the bladder recently died in my tank. I am still living on grid, trying to transform some things to off grid. I'm not very knowledgeable, but would a solar jet pump like the one you showed us possibly transform my existing well into an off-grid well system? What you've created and built is incredible. How do I access the plans you mentioned here? It's fascinating. God bless you and your family.
@HeirloomBuilders2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! You can purchase plans at www.heirloombuilders.com/designs-for-sale/rainwater Unfortunately, the jet pump won’t be powerful enough to pull water from a deep well. You’ll need 200w of solar panels, a cu200 controller and a grundfos sqflex DC helical well pump to get off the grid.

@@HeirloomBuilders Thank you for your advice, Logan. I shared a couple of your videos with a friend of mine and we are so impressed with your brilliance. I pray for your continued success and happiness in whatever you task you take on. You've created a little slice of heaven for you and your family. Many blessings.

Logan - I couldn't comprehend the name of your solar water pump. What is the name of it and do you have a "link" to it? Thanks so much for any assistance!
@HeirloomBuilders6 ай бұрын
It’s an AC booster pump made by Dankoff solar. Available at www.backwoodssolar.com

Well, that was a lot of information!! Can I ask why the picture was only in the middle with two black sides?? Is there a way for me to make it a full screen video, or is that just how it was filmed? Just wondering 🤔 Have a great weekend!

Filmed with a smart phone…
@HeirloomBuilders2 жыл бұрын
Jud is right. This vertical format makes it easier for me to film and upload to different platforms, and most people watch KZbin on their phone, which is optimized for this format. It’s not cool If you’re watching on a computer or TV, but that’s where the most viewers are. For longer videos like this in the futureI’ll switch to horizontal format

What do you do during winter when there isn't fresh water to keep the bacteria wet?
@HeirloomBuilders9 ай бұрын
The piping design always keeps 2” of water above the surface of the sand. Sometimes it freezes in the winter, but not bad enough to destroy the bacterial film. In cold climates, you can keep the filter inside a heated space to prevent freezing and keep the filter working all year.

How long will the water last you? If you don't get constant rain?
@HeirloomBuilders Жыл бұрын
Depends on how fast you use water. We don’t use flush toilets, so our consumption is minimal. We have never run out of water using about 1000-1500 gallons per month

Logan, did you happen to see all the news recently that all rainwater on the earth now contains "Forever Chemicals"?
@HeirloomBuilders2 жыл бұрын
I did. It’s making me consider adding charcoal to my filter. Too bad we can’t escape toxins no matter how hard we try. My heart goes out to the indigenous people of this world who don’t even know about civilization, but still have toxic water and air
@davehowells93102 жыл бұрын
@@HeirloomBuilders that's a good idea.... My town's water has these chemicals as well . I use double charcoal filter to remove them.

Better option for some. One no cost of drilling a well. Two the water quality is more predictable than a well.
@HeirloomBuilders Жыл бұрын
Absolutely. The cost of drilling a well has skyrocketed the last few years and makes rainwater harvesting a viable option.

Ha! Suck it up. Those plans represent thousands of dollars of experimentation, trial and error, and about 100 hours of my time in design. They’re worth more like $500.
@x-mess Жыл бұрын
$45 is excellent price. (Thank you!!) I wish the price of the system would be cheaper but it's the cost of being off grid.
