Thats quite big for an Orona

I do have a soft spot for Oronas, even though Kleemanns in Australia seem to be more common and somewhat better built. Despite the quality disadvantage, every Orona I've come across here (not that many) have been an exciting ride in their own way, from providing entertainment through their voices or the satisfaction that one provided by replacing a crappy Dewhurst mod.

Orona is always nice in my opinion (in terms of design and fixtures, they are quite distinctive), and is much better and nicer than its major domestic competitor MacPhuarsa; the latter is quite cheaply made and most of them I've come across have an awful "banging" sound on startup. For Kleemann, they appear to be as cheap as MP and other typical low cost cheap European elevators. Orona is still quite uncommon in Indonesia; the recent one I've found so far is in my local airport which unfortunately replaced a very rare 1998 Toshiba hydraulic elevator. Speaking of Orona, I've recently found out that they've replaced their 3G range elevator models with their new Orona Next series (probably released as part of their corporate re-branding), and they no longer sell hydraulic elevators. Hopefully I can find one of these Next series elevators in Europe to see if they are slightly different than the 3G elevators.

@@idl3k_elev I've clicked around the new Next range and the most interesting thing is that Orona has finally broken the 1.6 m/s barrier they set themselves, with a new Next Rise going 2.5. The fixtures, however, still seem to be the same 3G10 as always.

They also started selling freight elevator called Next Cargo. Apart from that, they no longer sell escalators and moving walks. Haven't seen one from them so far, I wonder if they actually bought the products from another manufacturer and branded as their own, just like how Kleemann imported SJEC products and branded as their own.

@@idl3k_elev for me the Orona escalators have always had a mysterious resemblance to Schindler ones…

@Álvaro You mean they look like rebranded Schindler 9300AE?

That is a loud motor, might just be worn out or something

Too bad our sole 2000s Orona (I mean the one that looks exactly like this) have been murdered by a generic....
@idl3k_elev2 жыл бұрын
AFAIK there hasn't been any single Orona of this type found in Indonesia. Only the older 2000s ones, of which only one is still partially original (Hotel Santika Pontianak, 2003).
@cjermia12 жыл бұрын
@@idl3k_elev : what about the one at Kemang that you filmed? And "Partially Original" - so the ones at Pontianak got modded by generic too? Well - they're derelict nowadays tbh cuz Santika closed its Pontianak branch.
@idl3k_elev2 жыл бұрын
That one is the older 2000s type. The ones in Hotel Santika Pontianak are similar to the one in Kemang but all the buttons have been replaced.
