One thing to mention is when they were talking about the “wing spiker” setting that was actually Aoba josais wing spiker Maki setting for Oikawa. One of Aoba josais biggest strengths is how strong their players are across the board. Several players are good at spiking, setting, receiving and serving. They have a ton of options. In that instance Maki was in a better position that Oikawa to set, so instead of forcing Oikawa to move, he set to Oikawa as the spiker.

Nope. Other than Oikawa and Iwa, and possibly Mad Dog, Seijoh players are just average. Nowhere near strong. To say that they're strong across the board is laughable. Maki, for example, are DECENT at the things you mentioned, but not GOOD. He's just an average player. The REAL reason that makes Seijoh strong is Oikawa. Even Ushiwaka said that. Aoba Johsai is nothing without Oikawa. Proof? Seijoh, without Oikawa, lost to Karasuno in a practice match in which Karasuno didn't have a coach, an ace, and a libero. Basically, you take away Oikawa from Seijoh, they can't even beat a Karasuno team without Asahi and Noya. How good can they be? Here's the thing about volleyball, the players are expected to be pretty good, not great, but pretty good, at everything. I mean, Daichi, Asahi, and Tanaka are actually good at spiking and receiving. And Asahi and Tanaka even do jump serve, while Daichi is actually great at receiving.

@@erict1628 I partially agree, but i would not say average, surely are inferior to Karasuno from a talent point of view. I'm saying it just because at prefectural level there are a lot of weaker teams. so the average player is really bad compared to Ahoba johsai players. Do you remember Tokonami high? Ikejiri's team(daichi's friend team). They every year pass the first round. So they are better than 50% of the teams that compete at prefectural level. Do not get fooled by how good karasuno is. ahoba johsai is not average. is karasuno that is literally broken(like Shiratorizawa). another example is johzenji. they reached the semifinals in the inter high without any problem so they were one of the best teams in the tournament. And actually even if some players are pretty talented, i don't see them(besides Terushima) being at the same level of mad dog, kindaichi, kunimi Iwa and Watari.

Hinata and Aone's mutual understanding basically made them besties without talking about being besties. They respect each other to the point that they both look forward to the next time they'll battle each other. (It's not just Hinata's hunger of winning against everyone anymore) So it's cute.

MANGA SPOILERS Dateko did end up becoming a very strong team. In fact, next year, they beat Karasuno in the finals of the Miyagi Inter-High preliminaries and went to the Inter-High nationals as Miyagi representatives.

Cause in 3 years (Hinata's first year is counted) Karasuno did came to nationals first, then Dateko, then Karasuno again- - Shiratorizawa was brought down their throne while Hinata is still in Highschool.
