Now the writers give Gail embarrassing singing scenes and pack her off to Thailand cos they’ve run out of decent stories for her. Good compilation, some confrontations with Ivy would’ve been great to see as well, plus the Carmel story and some cafe scenes with Alma.

The Carmel scenes were great but I only used the clips I had access to. I can’t stand the singing scenes the writers make Helen do. She has simply been turned into a throwaway one-line character in the past ten years.

I know it must be hard for the writers to devise new stories for the veterans, but yeah, some of Gail’s scenes in recent years have been a bit cringey. Is Helen leaving or just taking a break, I know she’s involved in some conservation projects.

I am devastated to hear about Helen's departure. Gail was actually one of my favourite characters and she will be sorely missed. I hope they don't kill her off though, she's was on pills for God sake. Although I didn't like some of her ways of how she treated the Platt family, she was actually a funny character. After 50 years, I can certainly say that Helen is absolutely Worth. She nailed it

They skipped a lot of stuff here. Starting with Gails final showdown with Brian before his stabbing then jumping over 10 years later to Sarah's teen pregnancy. There was some great Gail dramatic pieces with her affair with Ian Latimer and divorce from Brian. Then the Carmel nanny from hell stuff with Martin to name a few more.
