Winter very cold, windy and rains a lot. Playing Rugby and Cross country runs really challenging. Looking back at these so called "torture" decades later, it was well worth it. My I have your email please...Weegies loves a wee Swally

Thank you for the video Iain. Probably as close as I'll ever get to Helensburgh. Spent a good part of my school years in this town and truly loved it. My mother was a cook and housekeeper in various homes ranging from Rhu to Cardross, that was from the mid 1920s'. When she was in her late eighties she phoned and advised that she was going back to Helensburgh. I tried to dissuade her as most of her friends had passed on, but her mind was made up. Off she went. Four months later she phoned to say that she was back in Montreal. I'm now in my late eighties but lessons been learned you can't turn the clock back,,,,,,,, At least, I don't think so.

I am so glad that you enjoyed the video and you got to see Helensburgh as it means so much to your memories of your mum and childhood… When my dad passed we took his ashes and scatter them down near Helensburgh, he was a sailor, I think he is at peace sailing the seven seas now. 🙏

I feel a kindred spirit. Helensburgh is one of my favorite places in Scotland. I used to live in Croftamie near Drymen, another beautiful place. If every man and woman would purge their own heart of prejudice, hatred and greed, there would be no one left to wage war. Like sheep to the slaughter so many follow and trust corrupt politicians and don't acknowledge their part in this chaotic world. By doing so. They don't seem to understand they are but pawns in the chess game of world leaders fighting for power, money and land. I wish you continued success and don't let the world ever change you.

I remember having a great day out from Helensburgh years ago on “The Waverley”, the world’s last sea-going paddle steamer, in October sunshine. Glad the weather’s fine for you! Hill House, Helensburgh, designed by modernist architect and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh, is also worth seeing.

Nice video. Last time I was in Scotland as in February 2022. Went to Greenock and Dumbarton looking for possible property to buy as I was almost homeless. Everything too expensive down in England. Absolutely loved the video. It took me right back there. Best of all was the 'full Scottish' if I'm not mistaken. That and a decent pint of real ale... Mmm!

It was a full Scottish breakfast… my son ended up finishing it for me 😂 Greeno k has some nice areas as does Dumbarton - I am stopping in Bowling. A nice place in the hills ❤️

We stopped off there for a coffee when we were travelling around Scotland a few years back. It's a great part of the UK, stunning views. I particularly like Edinburgh, as a city it's one my favourite in the UK.

Helensburgh is expensive to live as the houses are expensive but the local area for food and eating out is comparable to Glasgow 👍
